You've all been busy!

I'm really looking forward to seeing all the finished entries. I have a feeling it's going to be difficult to choose a favourite.

Looks like there's going to be a lovely Liberty quilt added too, StitchinTime.

My fabrics I have chosen are these....

Ooooh, actually. Ditch the bluey purple on the far left of the picture. I exchanged that one for a blue. All the other fabrics are in it though.

I started off keen enough but lost interest a little bit when I started to join it all together....I began to feel irritated by how small the bits are/seams a bit off/not sure of the colours.

Anyway.....It's done.
Trip Around The World. It measures just 9 inch square....a bit smaller than it should/could have been, but it looks quite cute.

I hope TSP Bear will consider it a possibility.

Block of the Month 2017 / Re: Block of the Month - September

I've finished mine this morning.

Spent far too long messing about trying to decide on fabrics for this one. I changed my mind umpteen times but decided on this fabric. It's from a Moda scrap bag...the fabric range is '30's Playtime'.

Oh, no....I shouldn't have seen this. My minds gone off thinking of miniature quilts for teddy bears  :S

I should be working!

I only sat down for a bite to eat and to catch up on what you're all up to. 0_0

It's a lovely idea. I hope there'll be quite a few people getting involved.

Oh, dear  :[...I've just started googling 'Trip Around The World'. This is why my home needs dusting....I wonder if I can miniaturise a Trip quilt..... -<

That's a very nice block, Sonatine. :)
Interesting to see how it looks using just the two colours.

I've been wondering how to tackle it and have been trying to imagine it in a more restrained colourway. I don't fancy making a big one, and I think a small, simple block will be easier on the eye if the colours compliment each other.

Oh.... and welcome to the forum.

I like him! He's nice and chunky as you'd expect him to be.

Thought I'd try it in a 'warm' colourway. :)

OK....No printer. No problem. :P

It's a very simple grid of 4" squares, so I drew it out by hand just so I could have a go.

(I did use two different fabrics for the flower but you can't see any difference....I'd know better in future.)

You could download onto a USB and go to your local print shop ...
or Syrinx could send you a template through the post ???

Toooo much trouble. :P ...(for me and for anyone else to have to mess about with printing off and posting. No...)

What I need is to buy another printer. It's been on my list for some time. My son mentioned us buying one just the other day...(he was talking about being able to print off his CV)

I didn't use it regularly, but I miss having one.

Oh...POO!  :(

Printer's not working, so I'm not going to be able to do this one. :'(

We've been without a printer for about 2 years now, so I really ought to think about buying a new one.

Patchwork & Quilting ... Welcome to the Darkside / Re: FoQ 2017

That's great. :)

It's lovely to look at them, but I'm a bit surprised by how many I don't recognise ><

Quilty Sisty's quilt was stunning. We loved the colours she used in it.

A bit of a 'do' / Re: Bridesmaids Dresses
« on: August 06, 2017, 15:53:50 PM »
Justpottering....That's my fear, regarding making dresses for dieting bridesmaids.

The other problem is pregnant ones.
I seem to get lots of alterations on dresses for either pregnant bridesmaids, or ones who have recently given birth.

Good luck, Charlotte.

I get asked occasionally if I'll make bridesmaids dresses but I know I'll be out of my depth, so it's always a 'No', from me.

Thank you. :)

I'm constantly surprised by just how difficult it is to choose fabrics...the combinations are truly endless and you never really know how it's going to look until you've finished.
