In the wardrobe / Re: Any sales on indie patterns for Black Friday?
« on: November 22, 2017, 18:49:01 PM »
Ah I get you now. The 40% off does make the postage from the US better but I guess you would need a few to really get the benefit of it. I know it definitely worked out well for me when I picked up maybe 4 a couple of years ago.

I've ordered from the US site no problem before. I don't think they have any other version.

In the wardrobe / Re: Liesl & co Cinema dress

Aaargh! I've just bought the pattern at full price. But if they have a 50% off at some point in time that's an excuse to buy more!  ;)

Sorry! I could be totally wrong but I can't tell from the downloads I have on the computer the they were bought. I love the Oliver & S patterns so usually try and add one or two when the sale is on.

I'm nearly sure they do a 50% off patterns at some stage during the year. I want to say around black friday but I'm not 100%

A Good Yarn / Re: Drops 'Sea Nymph' Top down sweater

I've never gotten on with drops patterns so I'm no help at all but just wanted to offer my sympathies.

I have made this one with sleeve detail and am very happy with the finished item (must get it out for the winter!)

The Show Must Go On / Re: Labels for your creations
« on: October 24, 2017, 18:27:32 PM »
I've used these for labels before and found them good. I've ordered the customised ones as well as the size ones in the garment section which are great if I make more than one size of an item in the same fabric for my kids.

Yeah I'd leave off the pockets but I think it's fab other than that.

Courses & Classes / Claire Tyler dealing with denim

Has anyone done one of these workshops. I have a ticket for the knitting and stitching show here next month and I'm trying to pick my workshops. I have done one of her classes before and really liked her. I am also planning to do the lacy knickers one she is teaching.

Oh wow I love some of these. The cape, the high waist trousers and the collared dress in particular.

I like the styling of the split waist top. I think it would ruin the effect of it to put something under it for the photos.

Overlockers & Coverstitchers / Re: Machine recommendations.

It's the regular 664 I think.  I have used the rolled hem now that I think of it to make some christmas decorations and it was fine. My little girl is quite slim and I find leggings very hard to get for her so I make a lot of them. It is so easy to thread that I never bother with any of the tricks like knotting and pulling the threads through I just do it from scratch each time.
