@Diane thats a nice idea too, I am making mine for ma in law and I know she wouldn’t use a drawstring bag, she doesn’t knit or anything but   It would be less work

I am curious do you have a plan for what to do with the bands, I love making bands but got put off by a friend who is usually very supportive saying, they are nice but what are they for ….. I answered with a belt or guitar strap etc and received a very definite sneer.  Sort off put me off but you are encouraging me again.

Good afternoon everyone
Where did that morning go to……
I am in sewing mode but not sure what to sew next have been thinking of this https://www.missouriquiltco.com/blogs/missouri-star-live/easy-quilted-zipper-tote
I thought I might make one for a Christmas present and fill with little gifts, biscuits etc. not sure I want to pay out for the interfacing as I have some iron on fleece, not sure if it would work though.

@Bill I make draw string bags for my knitting as I use circular needles they don’t need to be that big, I also did the advent bags for my friends grandsons and they still use them many years later.

Sewing Machines / Re: Got my new machine
« on: Yesterday at 17:12:25 »
Wow that’s a beauty

One piece almost done just needs hemming, cat is asleep where that machine is so it can wait until tomorrow.  This is the free pattern on Jalie’s site.

It is very loose in the body with tight sleeves and quite a tight neck but I think I like it, it was left over fabric so a wearable twirl.

Well good and bad this afternoon I have made my free Jalie pattern only need to hem it but had a phone call from my friend next door and her Son in law that lives around the corner has just tested positive for you know what :'(  also someone my Son works with so right now I have finger and toes crossed.

Hope you are better soon @Iminei

Wow that’s looking good, what good fortune that you can put the small one on top, I am still thinking of getting the stand it’s working out where to put it that is also my problem.

A Good Yarn / Re: SEPTEMBER/ OCTOBER SOCK KNIT ALONG
« on: Yesterday at 12:02:06 »
They are fabulous @Iminei and @Stitches.   :perfect10:

Yesterday I wore a new pair of mine made in this wool https://www.marrineryarns.com/knitting-yarns/marriner-cosy-toes-4-ply-sock-yarn-100g-91.asp they are lovely and soft, maybe a little thinner than some of the others but in a good way, ie fit in tighter shoes boots etc.  the only downside is they don’t do any plain colours and I am into striped socks at the moment. :loveit:

Good morning everyone
Well I didn’t get much sewing done yesterday but I have threaded all relevant machines and hoping to get more done today.
Feel like I would like to go out but don’t have anywhere to go ………. So I will stay in and sew

My sinuses are driving me mad really painful at times almost at the point of trying to get an appointment with my do but not too sure I can take the stress that brings on   All the sinuses tablet you can buy actually make  it worse, steam seems to help.

@BrendaP these are fabulous, I wish I had more non stretch fabric scraps, I am looking at the tee shirt idea very seriously.

Really love this thread it has given me lots of ideas, I would like to keep this thread going for ideas and things people see but should we start a thread as a bit of a sew along for things people are doing now or just keep it in this thread?

I think I started this in the cafe not too sure if that matters.
