just stumbled across this site (https://freemagazines.top/category/knitting-sewing-crafting/) and downloaded a couple of mags with no obvious problems

Ooh - very nice, thank you!
Anyone who has Amazon Prime is entitled to borrow up to 10 books and magazines, and quilting and craft magazines are often included. You can see the selection here (https://smile.amazon.co.uk/kindle-dbs/fd/prime-pr-magazines) - scroll right down, where they show everything that's on offer rather than a selection.

Thanks @sewmuchmore I downloaded a mag :)

Thanks @sewmuchmore. I started with issuu that used to have a lot of Burda and Threads magazines, but somebody must have become wise to these uploads and most of them have all gone.

Can you download them to a computer? The kindle is so small and crap for any pictures.

It is MUCH easier to download the magazines from @sewmuchmore's link to a computer than to a kindle. They just download easily as pdfs.

I see the current edition of the RadioTimes is up and I am tempted as the print edition is eye wateringly expensive. I buy it every week and think of what else I could do with £3.30.

@Acorn it took about 12-15 seconds to download as a pdf to my tablet including finding the download button. Scrolls beautifully, etc.

I should probably have downloaded them directly to my Fire, but I downloaded them to my laptop and then tried to transfer them to the Fire, and for some reason I had terrible trouble doing so. Got there in the end though.
