You are going to absolutely love the needle threader. Brother packs a lot of features into these mid range machines. I just adore my se-400

It's the lock stitch and scissor functions I'm looking forward to. And it's got a bicycle stitch! How cool is that?!
-
A bicycle stitch? Now I am envious!
-
Looks like a nice machine, have fun.

These are nice machines. The needle threader on this one is really good and scissors are sooooo handy. Lots of decorative stitches. So much to play with. Enjoy!
-
Very nice and mum is getting the other one, very generous, a man who doesn't stockpile, like some of us.
-
She's decided she doesn't want it after all. Ah well.
-
Congrats for the Innovis - was able to use one of these for a while and they are great machines!
I was impressed particularly by the stitch quality.
Many happy stitches!!!

Enjoy the new machine! BTW, what is a bicycle stitch?

I don't have a Brother machine, what is different about the needle threader?

@Lilian my Brother is my only machine with a threader so I can't make a comparison. Brother has a couple of threader styles. This Innovis is the same as my machine. It has super easy lay in threading. After all the upper parts, pressure disks, etc there's a place you pull the thread into then across the left side to a cutter. Push a small lever down and you're done. I can do it all one handed and without my glasses in just a couple of seconds. Here's a link to (https://www.brothermachines.com/sewing/2461/Innov-is_A150_Sewing_Machine) that machine with a couple of pictures of it.

Thanks @Renegade Sewist that looks a good needle threader. My machine has a threader but not like that, you pull a lever down then wrap thread across and release the lever to thread, it sometimes takes a second go to thread.
-
@Lilian I can literally do it with my eyes closed. What I liked is I have an introductory level embroidery sewing combo, about $400, and a friend has a top of the line version, about $10,000, with the same threader. I like that Brother didn't cheap out on my machine. It's still a great machine.

I didn’t expect its meaning to be so literal but I like it.

I have to admit now that I've used it a bunch of times, it is pretty flippin good!

I've always had problems with needle threaders due to a dodgy left eye, even if shutting it and relying on the right one. My new machine, a Pfaff 710, is flipping perfect. There is a forked metal piece that you just draw the thread into making it a jackpot every time. For the first time I ever I use it every time.
