I think you deserve to console yourself with an entirely new and intact pattern.  :)

What @Iminei means @dolldocdavis is she has spotted the words ‘patchwork quilting’ She will be manically rubbing her hands together plotting to whisk you over to what we call here, the Darkside. There a few members who sew doll clothes and plenty of others sewing garments, home furnishings and bags. I too have Featherweight and love it to bits. Welcome to TSP.

I think they look so much better.

Fun with Fabric / Re: Ticking?

When I think of ticking, I think Ian Mankin. I used to go to their shop in NW London. It was a small, hole-in-the-wall place but fabric was beautiful and not as pricey as it is today.

I love that. Don’t need one but I want one anyway.    :D

Love that troll. Who has the time to knit all these things? It takes me like three years to finish a scarf.  :S

I recently discovered that YouTube channel and have watched her five part series on fitting trousers. These are the loose-fit type trousers that you would make out of drapey fabric for summer. I ended up buying the Free Range Slacks pattern by Sew House Seven. Karina is a great enabler so beware!  :D

I like the idea of a flat front waist but if all the elastic is in the back, it’s going to bunch up. If I wanted elastic at the waist but not the whole waist, I would personally go with side elastic or elastic round the waist apart from a portion of the front.

Useful TNT trouser patterns for me have been by Style Arc. Even though drafted with the pear shaped body in mind, they still suit my apple shape with tweaks. I decided to give the above pattern a go and will be making the more fitted leg version.

Welcome to TSP.

Odd that the charity shop won't accept them. I have a few to get rid of an I was hoping my local would take them. Will have to investigate.

Patchwork & Quilting ... Welcome to the Darkside / Re: Tuffet anyone?
« on: June 05, 2021, 13:58:09 PM »
Thanks for the clarification @RJR_38. Ruthie's has bigger pieces so few seams and I would imagine that it's more suited to a bean bag inner. I realised yours was solid. If it was too squishy, it wouldn't have the same impact.

Now that I have seen RJR’s I suddenly need a tuffet in my life and in my living room! Is that furnishing-weight fabric? @SewRuthieSews, love yours too and the beanbag inner is a great idea.
