Has anyone got a pattern for a tailored wrap coat with a shawl collar they would like to sell please?
I've spent hours and hours looking for one on the internet and can't seem to find what I'm looking for and there's nothing in the shops :'(
-
Do you have a photo of the sort of coat you want because I can't picture it in my head?
-
Starter for ten,
Ottobre Design 2012 winter - I've made this twice, I didn't like the hood (because you look like the Grim Reaper with it up) but shortening the hood length and not sewing the hood centre seam gives a nice shawl collar

Thanks for the replies.
I haven't got a picture because it's like one I made many years ago for a customer when I worked for Uncle Sid. If you can imagine a wrap over dressing gown but tailored and not so cosy looking if you can understand what I mean.
I am capable of draughting a pattern but I haven't got the table space and because my dog claims everything that goes on the floor that's out of the question

Thank you.
I think I've found something that close enough for me to adapt without too much trouble, it's Simplicity 1015, I want to do it in camel coloured cashmere. Now I've found a pattern all I've got to do now is find the right fabric. Maggies fabrics have got some on ebay, I've already asked if she can send me a sample and hers is cheap enough to use to make a toile.
Thanks everyone for your help.

That sounds quite luxurious! 0_0
Maybe post some pictures along the way for our delight? :loveit:
I saw Suzy Furrer has a new Craftsy class on drafting a tailored coat/jacket. Already added it to my cart, just waiting for a discount so I can get it for 19.99 or less :D

I have used that Vogue three times - once for a dressing gown, then a coat dress and finally as an actual coat. 0_0 It's a great pattern and easy peasy to make.

That (the long cream one)
looks just like my Charlotte Halton long coat that I bought in the late'80's .
I love it! Its Burgundy red with black velvet detail on the collar and cuffs, the lining has shredded and it looks its age but until I can find another Im not getting rid, not least because it is one of the few things my Dad bought me!
If only I could sew!!!!

That Simplicity one is gorgeous UR! I can out that on the list of never to be made coats and jackets! I keep threatening to make one, but it never happens!

Imi that coat is gorgeous, a few years ago I would have worn something like that but I think taking my age into account it may be a bit too vintage for me to get away with wearing but thanks anyhow.

UPDATE
Amazon have just informed me they have refunded my money for the pattern because the seller is saying it's out of stock
-
What about Simplicity 1067 that I posted above?

I've ordered it, along with another 1015 I found on ebay £4 cheaper than the one on Amazon and McCalls M7374, if I can't come up with what I'm after out of those three I think it's time I sold my machines and took up tatting or something :| I'm just waiting for the fabric sample from Maggie's to come because I'm not spending another £300 on good cashmere until I get exactly what I'm looking for.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and help

Utta is the Vogue 8346 the pattern you used for your beautiful tapestry coat?
I am hoping to make this for winter and am looking for fabric, though I wouldn't dare beas bold as you.

Aw shucks, thank you. :| The pattern is

I'm a bit late to this thread, but I've recently received the September issue of Knip Mode, a Dutch sewing magazine.
They've revamped their patterns in the last 12 months and are at least a rival to Burda now. Back on topic, there is a really nice jacket that could easily be lengthened to a coat and you can download the pattern as a PDF for about €5.
Here it is:

Are the Destructions in Dutchish ???
-
I'm afraid so, Iminei. However, I've offered (on another thread) to post a glossary of Dutch sewing terms.
The jacket is reasonably straight forward, as these things go, and I'd be happy to add to the vast amount of TSP help available if anyone needs a hand with anything.

Just a note about Simplicity 1067. It is unlined. One of my students made it a few months ago. Of course, the style had to be altered and she wanted it lined. :P.
-
:| I hadn't noticed. I would never consider or recommend an unlined coat, although those with sufficient skills could draft a lining.
