I cut out the trousers yesterday using the houndstooth check, today I have sewn the darts in the front and back also the seams, now I must find a suitable zip. I've got enough light brown satin bias binding for the waist facing.
-
I found a zip and that is now sewn into the centre back, the front pockets are almost fnished and I have to hand finish the satin bias binding on the waist facing, as it is a calmer day than yesterday I'll sit in the garden and do that.

They sound fabulous, I love the thought of houndstooth check pants. What kind of leg are you doing?
I made a plaid pair once upon a time (also a faced waist, back zip) and gave them a little flare. I loved them but no way fit in them anymore LOL ... I wonder what I did with that pattern???

I prefer slim straight-legged trousers and adjust the pattern. It is an easy make. I've made 4 pairs and am comfortable with this pattern now and I like the pockets. I haven't done any sewing today - more tomorrow.

It's great to have a go to pattern for trousers. My makes no longer fit and I'm working up the courage to make the adjustments my waistline is demanding :P
-
Made good progress today, just the waist facing and hems to do. Pleased with the fit.
-
Finished! Just need to press the hems.

Let's have a look then..... 8)

They sound great, @Silver Rose ! I like houndstooth too. I have a gorgeous piece of fine Prince of Wales plaid which I periodically look at and wonder about making into trousers. And then have a wobble and put it back in the cupboard :S
Are you able/willing to take a photo? It would be lovely to see them x

Thanks everyone, I'll wait for my friend to take a photo at the weekend, the pics I take of myself wearing clothes are not very successful, taking a photo of them hanging up is not quite so good - like this one I took before the waist facing was added.

All done and wore them yesterday, it was a bit warm in the sunshine for them really but I put them on for the photoshoot ;) and then had a walk around East Bergholt which was very busy with tourists. The trousers still need a good press, the fit is not as good as I thought.
