I keep getting "bad pathway"
At other times I get onto the boards and can't navigate them... the little circle just goes round and round and then the screen goes blank.
These faults happen on both desktop and tablet
Just thought I'd let you know

I've just had the same experience but on a second try I got here.
-
This happened at about 20.16 this evening, as I was trying to welcome Dorothy to the forum.
@Francesca
-
I've just had this for the second time in the last ten minutes or so.
-
Happened to me just now 20.50
-
And now a bad gateway

@Francesca @Acorn Do we know anything about this Ladies?
-
I think this is the same problem that Lowena reported yesterday (in fact I will merge the two topics in a minute).
The problem is with the server (and therefore probably the webhost), but there may be something we can do. Fran is a lot more likely to understand this than I am, and she has said she will have a look, but it is the holiday weekend!
-
No probs this morning :)
-
Mine is working fine this morning, and it's not a regular problem for me.
-
I'm still having problems and it is sooo slooow to move between boards. Nope, not my computer as every other site is ok.
If I'm not around, that'll be why
-
I'm finding TSP very slow today too. Maybe Sunday's the day they blow the fluff out! 0_0
-
Mine has been slow to change pages for the last few days.
-
I've had slowness and unresponsiveness from the site today, which curiously also exactly describes what I've got back from our hosting provider ><
I will go and moan at them again.
-
Me too ... slow loading and occasional bad gateway message
-
I kept getting the "502 bad gateway" error code yesterday. Gave up in the end!
-
Still the same this morning........ "I may be gone sometime" as it's taken me 20mins to get this far
Thanks for all your help Fran, sorry it's beyond your control.
-
Don't know if it's connected but when clicking on Unread topics>new it doesn't go into the thread it goes back to the main menu. Not a great drawback - I only mention it it case it's relevant.
-
I have the problem too. Hernibs PMd me and it hasn't come through. Sometimes baulks, sometimes connects.
An idea: does anyone else have access to the server who might have a grudge?
-
This is the message I just got:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@gridhost.co.uk and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server erro
-
I've just had the same message
-
Site still seems exceptionally slow to me loading pages etc ... Is there anything more to be done?
-
Over on my side of the Atlantic, it's working fine.
-
I get it too but when I click the back button the page opens, it only happens on here.
-
I've had this error a couple of times today, and each time has been when I was updating information on my diary thread, and each time the information was lost.
So, hopefully just for today, I've been typing in Word and copying and pasting onto the forum. (It's tedious to keep re-typing the same stuff).

I'm starting to have gateway problems and error codes too. I had the odd one before but it is getting progressively worse. :(
-
Same here. :S
-
Hopefully this will be sorted shortly as we have finally got the passwords to access the hosting service site...
Sorry about this guys, hopefully Fran will have good news for us soon.

Announcement
This is the response I have had from our host:
I am sorry, it appears that we have had some load spikes over the last couple of days for the server that your site is hosted under. Keep in mind that due to the nature of the shared service, these load spikes can happen on occasion. Our administrators are constantly monitoring the services , and are working on mitigating any such issues.
To explain a bit, we are on shared hosting which means the server box we sit on has other people on it too (think about it like we're parked in a flat with lots of other people in different flats, as opposed to the more expensive option of having our own house). Another site on the server has been having "load spikes" e.g lots of people hitting their page and this is causing us to slow down :[ (like trying to get in the shared front door when next door has a party).
Hopefully the issue will repair itself and it won't cause much issue but this is the nature of shared hosting. Please continue to report any slowness or errors here so that we can assess the impact this has on all of you and decide best course of action.

Thanks Fran <3

Is anyone else having problems getting in today?
Edge just won't let me in as it insists the site is not secure and I must close it immediately.
So I downloaded Chrome and it let me in after a bit of fuss - along the lines of 'well if you must but don't say we didn't warn you' and with a 'not secure' warning in front of the site name.
So far Safari on my iPad is letting me in OK.
-
yes - looks like the security certificate has expired - one for the tech team!
-
Yes I could only get in by using Chrome with a 'not secure' message.
It says security certificate expired yesterday..........
Hope we can get back to normal.
-
Yes, I had trouble getting in using Safari on my iPad but I went ahead anyway.
Hopefully, someone will resolve this soon.
@Francesca @Acorn
-
Getting the message 'not secure' certificate ran out yesterday.
-
Me too. Edge kept warning me against going to the site - they don't know we all trust each other here!
-
And me
-
Hiya,
I just discussed it with Iminei (apologies I didn't get on it earlier, I'm currently on support for work too and we just had an issue!)
This isn't anything to worry about, our certificate expired. I'm not sure why it didn't automatically renew as it should have done, but either way there is no security issue with the site. I'm on support with our hosting provider now to get the cert reinstated and find out why it didn't automatically renew.
-
I had trouble just now. Got some kind of security warning which hubs said was from the browser, not from my virus protection (If that makes a difference on your end figuring it out). He told it to go here anyways and it came up without issues.
-
Chrome wouldn't let me on not no way no how.
Seems back to normal now.
Thanks @Francesca.
-
No issues on Firefox, and I've been on and off since 6 AM, your guys' time.
I always figure my issues are from being so far away, so I never say much. Biggest one I have (and have had since May) is my updated topics. They are they same as they were on May 3rd.
-
@Francesca - thanks for sorting this out.
-
This affected me as well, and I am using Chrome, so tried Firefox and it was the same, tried several times and the same messages. Have just tried again and I am reconnected - thank goodness. So thank you to all who have been working to sort this out - it shows just how much we miss not having our favourite forum up and running.
-
Thanks from me too.
-
Yay back up and running. Thanks.
-
Thanks for sorting this out, very well done!
-
Chrome wouldn't let me on not no way no how.
Seems back to normal now.
Thanks @Francesca.
You can in Chrome. Just need to click the expanded advanced options and proceed. But it's fixed now anyway.
-
And here I thought it was just me and Chrome. Glad for the company in that selfish sort of way where it's better to know it's not just your computer but a little glitch elsewhere.
My message was totally different. Chrome told me MY clock was wrong. That it was ahead of the actual time that you were using, by about 20 seconds. Button to reset, which of course did nothing due to the actual issue. You should have then seen me, swearing and trying to get the seconds manually adjusted to just right. Of course that never happened. I then went online and researched how to override the issue as well as the sites it's been telling me were not safe. It's the blasted veterinary clinic for Pete's sake.
So I did all that, spread over two hours yesterday evening. Then shut the whole thing down which we avoid, as start up gives me no less then 17 pop ups, with a dog barking each time, that I have to click on in no less then 3 places on each of them, just to get to be on the internet.
So I was pleasantly shocked to be here this morning. I was going to send a PM over on PR to Kwaaked to let you all know why I'd disappeared.
-
My Chrome also went into something that the clock may show the incorrect time, it didn't, if my laptop had been compromised.
-
Many Many Thanks to @Francesca for fixing this lil gremlin ... which was totally routine and nothing to worry about ... but we do dont we.
-
I did, it wouldn't so I did the dishes and had a bath. 0_0 (not in the same place!).
I got the clock thing too.
Missed you all. 0_0 <3
-
@wrenkins you were smarter then me then. I kept trying to reset the idiot clock and it still wasn't working. This is an older computer, the main one is acting up and w're at a standoff as to who'll break down and pay to fix it, and it disallows many things. Plus it has a dog :woof: barking at me if I go somewhere it doesn't like.
