Title: July’s BOM - Cabin Fever
Post by: StitchinTime on July 01, 2018, 00:20:37 AM
As the Festival of Quilts deadline is rapidly approaching, Iminei is spending time with her patchwork village, so July's BOM has been passed to me.

After last month's curves, we are back on the straight and narrow and, thinking of how Iminei may be coping with her confinement to barracks due to her foot injury, here is

CABIN FEVER (https://photos.app.goo.gl/s8uZxEpYMazw987d8)

As usual, click on the first picture in the album to bring it up to full size. If no instructions are visible, click on the i icon to make them appear. For those who prefer to work from printed instructions, all the details are available in this PDF file (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1d3kiH7ICB19zMqoG3hL8JoB6kB4JAHmi/view).

Do let me know if you spot any errors or if anything is unclear.

There is a dedicated Hall of Fame for all your creations and an exclusive The Sewing Place Prize Winners Badge for everyone who completes all of 2018's BOMs.

This is lovely  :)  Definitely one to try later in the year, it looks beginner friendly - I see a cushion cover in my future  :D

Thank you for all your hard work on this tutorial  :flower:

Got it done this afternoon.

Isn't it funny how some colours just don't photograph very well. This is a lovely bright orange but looks paler in the picture. It'd probably look brighter if the lawn looked greener and fresher behind it.  -<
I asked my daughter for her opinion on how to position the blocks.....'Circle!'....so that's what I've done.

Thanks for doing this for us, @StitchinTime  :)

Looking forward to catching up on BOM's hopefully in next week or so,  I've been struggling the last couple of months with exhaustion and in between that I've had to prioritise gardening, this week has been first in ages I've been managing to get any sewing done - making last years BOM Kimono blocks into a quilt for a friend, been really missing sewing.

I’ve made this block in my BOM fabrics and decided to go non-scrappy. However after I had cut out these strips I found a set of scrappy strips that I had cut when testing/writing the tutorial, so I’ve a bonus block now.

@Pearl I see how they look together when all 12 are finished, but I thought if I used the same fabrics it would give me the option.

They look so good together!

I bought fabric to do this, but haven't used it.   ><  I'm planning to put some in a Gypsy Wife's style quilt instead.

The tutorial is great, and everybody's blocks are beautiful.  :flower: One of these days I might have enough time available to do a huge catch-up. That's my plan  >:) but whether it'll come to fruition is another matter.  :S

I cut this out a while ago and today got round to sewing the bits together. Both boys think it's really cool and helped decide on the arrangement.

I swapped the light and dark over due to the size of the scraps I had.
