Also @Lachica, I had to 'remove' of the printer from my laptop, then 'add' it again when I realised that the new router caused the problem. I have a Macbook Air. It was painless when I followed the online advice for my printer.

@Lachica have you had a new router lately? I needed to re-introduce my new router to my printer, along with Alexa and a few other things.

You may have seen this a few years ago, but I saw it for the first time on Monday evening on BBC 4, and I was blown away with the beauty of it an the magic of the weavers. It is available on iPlayer for a couple of weeks still. Apologies if you all have seen it before.

I would try Will Kirk's mixture on one chair @Flobear, then buff it up with a bit of wax polish, and see if you like the result?

Events / Re: The Great Tapestry of Scotland

I must visit this the next time I am visiting my daughter in Glasgow. It must be beautiful.

There is a smaller tapestry in Ireland, New Ross, Co Wexford, called The Ros Tapestry. I have been to see it twice during visits home; I think it may be on tour at the minute though, but if anyone is visiting Ireland it is well worth a visit. All panels made by local stitchers.

Current Projects / Free motion embroidery
« on: October 29, 2021, 20:44:15 PM »
For @Diane. Just to say - you can do free motion embroidery on your sewing machine, as I am sure that you probably know, so I am sorry if I am causing you offence by suggesting otherwise.

I have recently started to get to grips with free motion stitching and I really enjoy it very much. I sketched this mushroom on a piece of paper before stitching it. It is on felt, with a piece of stabiliser at the back. This piece of felt was to hand so I used it.

@bodger if you peruse Ebay, you will see lots of these machines for sale, for varying amounts of money. They are easy to maintain and fix up yourself, and there is lots of help out there on various vintage sewing sites. The BHF charity online shop often have these Singers for sale too, but you would have to clean it up. Helen Howes sometimes has these machines for sale; she has a website, and she fixes up these machines so that they are ready 'to go'. Helen does not post machines, you need to collect from her place in Norfolk.
