Your Favourite Suppliers / Re: Now that I've had my moan....

Yes - same here.  DPD drivers are lovely - and very efficient.  Amazon only seem to use UKMail for heavier items, thankfully.  Our Hermes courier is brilliant, too, as is our postman.  The Royal Mail is usually very reliable indeed.
I have just started getting Amazon packages via DPD and so far (touch wood) all has been fine.
We have a good Hermes chap for our area - hope he stays.

Lovely curtains, BrendaP.
Thanks, Bodge, I wondered about the thing on the wall as well.

That would have been a bargain for the table alone.

I like the jacket and the material.

I'm a bit late to this party but it reminded me of this:

 http://goodbyevalentino.com

She's managed to get herself a job as a Pfaff ambassador and so far I think she had her mits on two big embroidery machines for test driving and using designs on her clothes.
I have never had any desire to get involved with embroidery machines, but I love that scrollwork on the trousers.

Looks really good and lovely and bright for a winter throw.

I thought about Omnigrid rulers but I don't know what size(s) to get - and/or more plastic templates?
One side thought.
Omnigrid are not the only rulers - although they were the ones I started with as the shop that ran the beginners class I went to sold them.

Personally I find the markings on Creative Grids rulers easier to see

and the rulers can be used for far more things than just patchwork.

Sewing Spaces and Furniture / Re: Ikea - sewing machine table?
« on: October 16, 2017, 22:37:14 PM »
In the past, I have put wardrobes together on my own - it was interesting when it came to the stand it up bit...
That brings back memories. I have three Billy bookcases, with doors and put them together myself.
The two smaller ones were fine, but the tall one was 'interesting'.

Wouldn't even consider doing it now.

You obviously have your charity shops well trained, Barny.

They do have shows round the country.

Besides at least they do come to Scotland - K&S have withdrawn.

I'm sorry but I was serious when I said I had binned it!!!

All of it, all the fabric, all the pieces in the proper bin too, with the  kitchen waste ... not just my thread catcher either!!!
A more sane and reasonable Imi would have saved it for embroidery practice or such, but this Im was a girl possessed :(
Well I guess the next one of us who announces that she has binned some blocks that went wrong (yes, FPP blocks I'm talking about you) will get a free pass now  ;)

794
You forgot the running out of bobbin thread 6 inches from the end of the binding.

These things are generally regarded as the immutable laws of quilting, but as Fajita knows, other things also have immutable laws, the gist of which is anything that can go wrong will go wrong, at the most inconvenient moment. This law has a shorter name, too. ;)
You mean Murphy's Law -  :ninja:

So do I.
