I’ve just seen this pattern but it’s only available in the US, Aus and NZ...
Would any of our friends from across the pond be will I go to buy it and send it across?
I could get out on Flebay but postage is £12.
Altered title to try and garner more targetted interest ... Hope you dont mind xxx
-
If it is any help I also see it listed as McCalls 7804.
-
I have seen it for £15.43(inclusive p&p) delivered from Canada if that's of any use. But it is a size 14- 22 the one I saw.
It's a nice pattern to have too.
-
If you wait until the US McCalls website has a sale you will get it for $3.99 plus $15 p&p. However the $15 p&p covers up to 3 patterns so you would be best to add two more to your basket as well. In these sales Butterick and McCalls are $3.99 and Vogues $6.99 and you can mix and match the brands. It's quite good value for Vogues - doesn't work out quite as well for the others but it is no more than full price McCalls here as long as you buy 3 patterns. I frequently buy Vogues this way and they arrive in 10 or so days. The sales are frequent - every couple of weeks.
The reason your pattern isn't available in the UK is because it is a Laura Ashley pattern - these ones never seem to come to the UK presumably for copyright reasons.
Oops I've just noticed that the US site will only post this one to USA or Canada. So much for my cunning plan, I'm afraid!

@Efemera, there is ebay seller from the US that has sizes 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/303441677869?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=303441677869&targetid=876284534867&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9044974&poi=&campaignid=9446077381&mkgroupid=98366966800&rlsatarget=pla-876284534867&abcId=1139356&merchantid=138359461&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyInHx7n85wIVh8x3Ch0bRAHREAkYBSABEgLIjPD_BwE) as well as 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/303399635535?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=303399635535&targetid=879157198036&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9044974&poi=&campaignid=9437867021&mkgroupid=95526236133&rlsatarget=pla-879157198036&abcId=1140486&merchantid=138359461&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyInHx7n85wIVh8x3Ch0bRAHREAkYHCABEgKPQfD_BwE). The price and postage seems quite reasonable.
-
I have offered a handful of times and it has always been declined so I am always hesitant to make the offer when I see these type posts.
I can, and am going to the store but even with the $1.99 sale, once postage is added you're not likely to look at much less then the Canadian ebay.
-
The one that @UttaRetch has spotted on ebay seems to work out at about £11 inc postage which is pretty good.

Yes, I think @UttaRetch has done really well to find that. I looked but couldn't see anything like that. Well done utter :)
-
Thanks @UttaRetch ....bought it. I got the smaller one as I would assume they are American sizes...at least I hope so!
-
Labeled as easy sew and loose fitting. It's got 5.5 inches of ease at the bust. Also a fabric hog. Interesting way the front's cut.
-
@Efemera, glad to help. Running patterns to ground and finding lookalikes are two of my favourite things. :D
-
Well I've bought the larger size @Efemera ! So thanks to you for suggesting it and to @UttaRetch for finding it. I see it's already shipped. I often hanker after the Laura Ashley styles of my youth although I'm not sure I can get away with the milkmaid look in my 60s! This pattern is good as it's up to date but nods back to earlier times which I like. If there's any problem with sizing in your pattern I can trace mine when it arrives.
-
Just have to go fabric shopping now!...of course there’s nothing suitable in the stash :ninja:
-
Perhaps something floral from that Dutch online supplier that we've been discussing @Efemera ? Of course if we choose the same fabric we can be twins! (I should say that I am already a twin but my twin brother never seems to have been tempted to wear Laura Ashley dresses).

Just looking at some google images (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=McCalls+7804&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwj4qLzzi_7nAhVL4oUKHTimB7YQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=McCalls+7804&gs_l=img.12..0.52455.52455..54802...0.0..0.53.53.1......0....1..gws-wiz-img.PThUoRJC7IM&ei=8zBeXrjjHMvElwS4zJ6wCw&bih=672&biw=1265&hl=en-GB) for the pattern and MimiG's version (https://mimigstyle.com/diy-green-floral-maxi-dress-using-mccall-7804/) jumped out at me. She can do restrained and modest sometimes. (https://i.imgur.com/S39XZCT.png)

I like the fabric that Mimi G has used
-
Just added this to the Pinterest board for my mum's mother of the groom dress ideas. (My brother's wedding, in case that's not clear.) I'm in the US later this month, so if I can persuade her to make some decisions in the next two weeks I can hopefully pick it up then if I need it. Looks like you already have yours sorted, @Efemera.
-
Yes the Mimi G version is really nice. She's added ties at the waist which looks like a good idea.
-
Found something in the stash...it’s much more deep green than the picture, a lovely poly crepe from Immanuels .. £2 a meter.
-
Oooh. Looks good @Efemera . £2 a metre at Immanuels? - that means it's pretty posh stuff. ;)
-
Whilst I was doing the image search, I came upon
(https://i.imgur.com/9SjCYoH.jpg)
which has a similar vibe. It is out of print, though.
-
Yes they've obviously reused some ideas but I prefer the 7804 pattern especially if I can get it anything like Mimi G's version.
A hundred years ago in the 1970s the pattern brands did Laura Ashley patterns which exactly reproduced what you saw in the shops and you could get the fabric in the Laura Ashley shops too. I made several Laura Ashley dresses and I still have a couple - thanks to my Mum never getting round to taking them to the charity shop (thanks Mum ). They have shrunk terribly in the wardrobe though :o :o
I have a nice length of vintage Laura Ashley fabric which I hope to use to channel a little of that 70s vibe. Flares and platform soles next!
-
Yay my pattern has arrived. Postage was just over £4 from the US. It was tracked all the way and only took a week to arrive. There were 11 stamps on the envelope! :S

Too bad the poor girl doesn't know the difference between midi and maxi. Influencer? Yes, bad influence. :S

Mine has arrived too.
