I am here already as I am determined to finish these mattress covers, what seemed to be a simple job has taken a lot longer than I wanted it to, but it will be worth it in the end.  The machines will certainly need a good clean out when I have finished and some nice new needles and a good drink of oil.

I won't be here today either. I'm at hairdressers and then meeting friends. Have a good sew 😁

Welcome @TangledBloke !  I'm a quilter, who has learned a great deal from the folks here. And as others have said, there is no sewing/quilting police here. I am also a firm believer that there is often more than one way to get something done.

I'm with you.  Sometimes I am tempted to try one just gor a different 'look' but not practical for my lifestyle.  I don't do much posing.  Housework and cooking yes.  Many styles are not practical for my lifestyle and where I live.  With no car, I walk to the shops and carry things back.  I need a coat that stays closed in a wind, keeps my arms and neck warm and doesn't trail in the shop shelves.  Wrap dresses are out, even slightly fully skirts blow up in the winds we get here.  It's hard walking home with shopping whilst holding ones skirt down.

Completely agree about wrap dresses @Starryfish ..A wrap dress can look nice but you spend your time adjusting it, pulling it tighter so it doesn't fall open and then eventually you find yourself sewing poppers on to stop it gaping. The DVF wrap dress was the only pattern Vogue didn't put in their sale - maybe it's just the DVF name.

While I am in a completely different part of the world, I'd say yes with a caveat.

We hit 84 here today and I am breaking out my linen pants and maxi skirts, but, I still have a couple jean/twill jackets out to toss on and I keep my Shanel out all year round except middle of summer (when it is almost or at 100F) for a deep dry clean and repair.

This weekend we've got rain and 60 for the high one day; will be 80s until Friday, then mid and low 60s until Tuesday with lows in the 40s.  While I am not overly a cold person, if I am outside those days, I can get chilly.

What is it with wrap dresses? There are only suitable for standing around, they fall open the moment one sits down or walk.
Or is it just me?

It's good it's gone to a bilingual indie pattern company! If I remember one of the founders has had health issues.

I overlooked the main sections of my new Marcy Tilton top then sewed the centre back to the side backs. I've sewn pocket facings to the fronts then sewn on the pockets to the pocket facings. Will sew the side seams and shoulders tomorrow then I can have a try on. That's always slightly nerve wracking as it's the first chance to see how it looks.
