I cut crossways ,width of fabric but most often I use smaller strips to make a variegated binding.
Never cut quilt binding on the bias

Nope @Lemon Syllabub never, even as a child. I was brought up in London and we didn't need wellies for smog!

The accepted width is 2.5" to be folded in half.
I ,personally prefer a wider binding. My last one was 4" then folded. My next one will be 3" as that fits the overall look better

I've been making blocks for my latest quilt. I finished the top of one ( double bed size ) and have now begun another.....size to be decided.
OH is not well but when I get a minute I'll pop round to my local Long Arm Queen to discuss the next stage of my quilts
