Thanks for the link @Manuela. I have short legs and only wear flats so have been avoiding dresses. This article has given me some inspiration!

Hi @Turquoise from another SG member (AnnetteB).

I think you'll like it here and you will see a few more familiar faces (names mostly).

Which neckline looks best on you? It would be a shame if you put so much effort into the dress with the easiest neckline and then find that it doesn't flatter you.

I am keen to follow your progress as I have been toying with the idea of hand making a garment.

Hi @renita!! I'm a fellow Aussie and also relatively new to TSP. I think you will find this is a good place to hang out and I wish you a successful return to sewing.

A bit of a 'do' / Re: Flower Girl dress

@Francesca

Ooh!! That outfit will be gorgeous!!

I too wish that I had a little girl to sew for. We had three sons and now our eldest is to become a father in September and I've got my fingers crossed for a grand-daughter. Maybe I can start looking at patterns for little girls; it can't hurt surely?

@Vezelay

I think your tops look great and IMO, there's nothing wrong with the longer shoulder seam in your original version. It's probably just not something that you usually wear and you "think" it looks odd.

With regard to your pants, I don't think there's really anything to worry about there. What happens if you roll the waistband over which in effect, shortens the front crotch seam?

Lovely jacket!! Brass is my preference. The blue buttons don't provide enough contrast IMO.

@rubywishes - it works for me too!!

Now that I've got your attention, can I please ask you a question about fabric shops in Melbourne? I will be there for a couple of days in mid-July, staying in the city. Is there anywhere that I absolutely must go to check out fabric? I hope to pop into Lu'Cello too (I can never remember how to spell it). I hope the weather warms up a bit for us.

Hope you have a lovely Sunday - warm and sunny here on the coast in Central Queensland.
