I have begun making this one.
I would imagine it will trail well into the New Year.
I need to buy lots more of the background colour (dark green), or I could make each block an individual block, negating the need for consistency.
I think I’ll make the first block and then decide. Leaning towards consistency at the moment.
The pic is of the ‘fern’ blocks.

I need to make the same three blocks in another five colourways.

That’s a wonderful pattern, but a lot of work. I’d have to do a cushion version,I think! I look forward to seeing it finished.
-
It looks lovely, but where to begin? It's so complicated.
-
I've made several Elizabeth Hartman designs ( not dinos ). They are straightforward but very fiddly
-
Absolutely lovely looking forward to seeing it.
-
Wonderful! I think it definitely looks best with a consistent background - they wouldn't look as though they were all playing together with different backgrounds.
-
That could almost tempt me over to the dark side. Purple and green rights hoarding dinosaurs....
-
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ] Today I need to revisit this block and find out why the bottom edges don’t match. :scream:
-
I can already see the left hand strip needs to be turned so the bigger triangles are facing the bigger triangles on the other side.
Moral of this tale - don’t sew when tired.
-
It's going to be amazing when it's finished.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ] A start has been made. Brachiosaurus
-
looooving the green spotty one!
-
I’ve done now all the main pieces. Before cutting the sashing/borders I just have to decide if I really want a big quilt or a couple of smaller ones.

That's absolutely fab, please don't let my GS see it.
-
That is wonderful. I know a little boy who would love that as well :thumb:

Great quilt, love the colour combos
-
God, i have only just seen this and i am MADLY in love with it - so much so, that I am trying to think of a little boy who would like it, just to have the excuse to try and make it!

I've seen a few Elizabeth Hartman patterns online, and they always look great when they are finished. I think there's a sea creatures one, and a woodland creatures one as well. Would love to give one of these a go one day :D
I'm following this with great interest!

@Lowena is the expert on Elizabeth Hartman and Im sure she would give you any hints and tips
-
Wow that quilty is amazing. Girls also like dinosaurs though!

Hi @Lottie yes @Iminei is right ( although flattering me by using the word "expert" ) I have made several Elizabeth Hartman quilts......the forest one, the sea one, the plant one and the dog one..
They're blo*dy fiddly to measure and cut....lots of tiny pieces, but they sew together easily and well.
The biggest tip I can give anyone is to keep all the tiny pieces for each block together and separate from anything else. She says to cut everything out first but I would say to cut and sew each block separately. Much easier to keep on track that way.

Finally! Someone agrees with me !!
Can you post some pics of your creations please @Lowena ??

And it’s done.
