DS wanted 100% cotton pyjamas. He's become extremely leggy and the RTW from the likes of Next & JLP are either too short for him or not 100% cotton. Therefore I offered to make them and the fabric he selected, from Online Fabrics, was Royal Stewart brushed cotton. I haven't pattern matched complex checks for decades but I thought I'd give it a go, and this is the result. Don't look too closely otherwise you'll see he's a *very rude boy* and deserves a smack.
I've done two pairs of trousers and one jacket, finished yesterday. I have fabric enough to make more trousers but we both agreed that the jacket is going to be too warm for all but the coldest weather. Still, he's off to university in the autumn so warm jammies will probably be needed when he finds himself in some draughty Victorian two-up, two-down!

Poor boy, expected to model for Mum.....no wonder at his reaction

Being a Scotsman and liking tartan, I had to come have a peek. These look great, well made and respect to the son for picture posing. I have a girl and don't think she would be a happy lassie about it lol

I too am Scottish, with a bit of Irish from the potato famine days - there's a lot of us about :)
Thank you all for the positive comments. If he wants more PJ jackets, though, he can have them in plain brushed cotton or else as plain cotton jersey T-shirts. Took way too much time to get right for a garment that isn't seen outside the house!
