Today... One thread per day / Re: Tuesday 22nd June

There are a few quilt groups listed in W Sussex. Probably not doing much at the moment, but will open up again eventually. Meanwhile they have a few zoom events, if that appeals to you. If you ask the organiser they may be open to non-QG members. There are probably more groups about - not all affiliate to QG, but finding them can need detective work.

@Deafoldbat Thanks for that, i was on this site earlier but must of missed this link  There are a fair few local to me but i'll need to investigate first and try and find the ones that suit me best.

Back to the dark side for me  :ninja: I feel more comfortable over here
I dug out the pineapple blocks that i started a while back and have made a couple more over the last few days. This afternoon i added some sashing to part of the blocks, not sure how big a lap quilt should be so i'll give it a measure up in the morning but i think i'll need another three blocks. I've done 12 blocks so far.
My next project will be an applique wall hanging to go above my bed, theme yet to be decided.

@Gernella I'm in the same situation, work was my life and i feel a little lost since finding myself early retired at 55  One of my close friends at work likes crafting but she's 40 miles away now but i'm sure once all restrictions are lifted we will make some time to go on some craft weekend workshops. We use to talk craft stuff all the time but sadly no more, i am meeting up with her for lunch on the 9th July so that's something to look forward to at least.
I did contemplate the local WI but i'm not sure if it's for me, i always remember seeing them in the town years ago all dressed in black promoting their institute....Mmmm not sure i'm in to all that  :faints:  I have also been looking at the quilters guild so this is another avenue i will investigate. My DH is at work all day so it does get a bit lonely, maybe we should set up some zoom meetings on here, a bit like a coffee morning

Happy Anniversary @Starryfish

@Celia it's a lovely hat, i knitted one back last year, don't know why i knitted it as i'm not a hat person really, but maybe i'll wear it when we get to winter.
I've been looking for some local craft courses but i'm having trouble finding them. Just wish i lived near to someone who shares the same interests then at least you can go for a coffee or whatever and chat about sewing/quilting etc. This is what happens when you've been so involved with work for years and never made time for anything social, you end up having no social contact with people when you most need it.

Morning 🙂

Well it’s grey, wet and windy down here on the coast so not very good for the mood. Got up still feeling a bit under the weather, just don’t feel myself at the moment, i just wish things like craft classes and that would open up so i can get out and chat with other people instead of talking to the four walls………anyway enough of me feeling glum

Will start another quilt block in a bit and yesterday i also had a practice at free motion quilting and i must say not bad at all, got the swing of it so i look forward to that when i get to that bit.

@Celia  My gosh did you do that by hand or by machine? It’s very pretty 😍

I’m feeling a bit better this afternoon, cleared all the other sewing away and have got out all of my quilting fabrics, feel happier now. It’s taken me about an hour and a half to do one pineapple block as I couldn’t remember how to do it but got there in the end.

Morning

I can’t seem to get any enthusiasm up today to do anything, just feel rather blah 😒. No jobs really need doing although i do have a list on the wipe board in the kitchen but they can wait.

Still looking at the recycle challenge but in all honesty I can’t be bothered with it  :faints: the bit i have put together is going to end up folded up and popped in the wardrobe where I can’t see it, out of site out of mind. I want to get back on to my quilting so I’m clearing the decks and will get out my quilt blocks that i started a while back.

The weather is grey, dull, wet and I’ve just put my fire on, naughty i know but i just can’t seem to get warm today, was feeling a bit under the weather yesterday so maybe I’ve got a bug 🤷‍♀️

Morning 😀

Wishing my dad a happy Father’s day today, he’s been gone 16 years in August and i miss him like crazy.

A very grey and drab start to the day down here on the coast, looks like we had rain overnight not that i heard it.
Nothing planned for today apart from some reading up on quilting ideas/techniques etc

Morning 😁
Weather is grey but dry, no sunshine forecast for today which I don’t mind to be honest, gets a bit intense with too much sun everyday.

DH is off to visit his mum today in the nursing home, she rang yesterday saying that everyone had been admiring her lovely summer clothes and also her new large faced watch that I’d bought her as she couldn’t see the face on her old one. She’s asked for some perfume so I’ll be off to boots this morning to pick up a bottle of her favourite, obsession. I think it’s a good sign when she’s asking for new clothes and perfume, it shows that she’s settled in nicely.

Have a good day

Morning all

Very wet here down on the south coast, I’m glad it’s rained as the garden could do with it. My pansies in my hanging basket are looking rather bashed but I’m hoping they will perk up later on.

@Silver Rose those red onion and goats cheese tarts sound lush  :P

Welcome to TSP 👋

Good morning 😎
I’m still in bed and will arise once DH has left for work 🤣
When DH got in from work yesterday he remarked on my excellent paint job out the front and then said “did you give it two coats”  :faints: two coats
I feel quite tired after yesterday but as soon as I’ve showered I will be out the front with my paint brush give that wall a second coat of paint and that will be done and dusted.
Not planning on doing too much today but as @Iminei mentioned “where’s June gone” I should really try and get going on the recycle challenge. After cutting all that clothes up into 6” squares, I tried pinning it yesterday but didn’t like what was staring back at me so now I’ve cut those squares in half hoping it will make it easier, in other words, I’ve no idea what I’m doing
