2021 BOM Mystery Quiltalongathon / Re: Block 1 - The RUBY Star

@StitchinTime  thanks for the reminder, I had forgotten that thread. I've had a look at some Spanish sites and been unimpressed, they mostly seem to favour some quite hideous novelty fabrics. I'm also going to check out Myfabrics and the Dutch one to see if they have patchwork fabrics. Failing that, a few small orders from Doughty's when they have sales might be the answer.

I've got very few blenders @Pearl and definitely not in a range of shades. My local shop has very little in plains or blenders so I may have to order some from UK. That will take weeks to get here and I may be hammered with import duty as well. Thanks Brexit,  the gift that keeps on giving!

Same here. I've never made a quilt label in my life, so unlikely to start now. I never consider my quilts worthy of labelling for future generations anyway.

@WendyW . I agree with Sheilago, your quilt is lovely and the Quilting looks perfect to me.

I know,@Iminei, it's mad, isn't it? We haven't had any post, other than parcels for weeks and I was wondering if customs had nicked my badge because of the pointy bit. I think we all got post today as the British Embassy sent us all a letter telling us all what we needed to do, and even our post office thought they'd better deliver them!

Here's hoping. Our original post lady got knocked off her scooter and the new one now driving a van and probably has more deliveries to do. Just getting into the post office is a nightmare at the moment. Keeping my fingers crossed . :headbang:

No Iminei, not received it yet. Our mail is getting worse, very little is getting here in a timely fashion. Some of us haven't had any post for a few weeks although my neighbours, (with a Spanish surname) seem to get theirs. Just saying.

Thank you @Kenora .

I hate it when that happens. I found myself unpicking more of this quilt then I ever have before. It seemed that if I could do something wrong, then I did! It nearly drove me mad at times and it was a relief when it was finished. Still, it worked out in the end. Yours is going to be gorgeous.

@Iminei Thank you. The quilt has been given to a friend who loves anything I make, bless her.  <3
I didn't know there was a choice of badges, so either would be lovely, thank you.
Although we live in the same place, our town hall has changed the postal address slightly. Don't ask, this is Spain!
I'll message you with the updated address.

Thank you @Lilian . QAYG more often than not produces the thin sashing and mine was extra thin because I had to trim some of my blocks down to the correct size and to avoid losing all the pointy bits I took a deep breath and made the joining strips a little narrower. It was a bit tight in places!
Follow Iminei's instructions when you get to them and you'll be fine.

@Pearl  because it is a sampler, and anything goes with a sampler. That's  my excuse and I'm  sticking with it!

Yes, it took me ages to get it more or less right and I still go off course at times. It takes practice.  Her smaller rulers are pretty good though. I've got Taj, but the one I use most is handiquilter versatool. You have to put grippy things on it though.

She's got a new challenge thing starting at end of the month. This one's ruler quilting so should be interesting.
