The V&A will be mounting an exhibition devoted to Mary Quant next year and is currently looking for contributions (https://www.vam.ac.uk/blog/network/we-want-quant-help-us-bring-to-life-the-first-mary-quant-exhibition-in-50-years) from members of the public.

Oooh the 1960's, I remember then, I was in my teens and couldn't afford MQ but mum could sew ;)

I have offered the organisers

some fabric. I bought this in a vintage market simply because I couldn't bear to let it go and I can't imagine that there is much unused, original Mary Quant fabric around.

I may have to go to this as I worked for her around 1967 in her Bond Street shop.

What, no happy memories to share? :ninja:

Finally got around to seeing this exhibition and post below a few photos.

The striped dress is one of the two giveaway patterns to tie in with the exhibition. I never identified the other one.

Not my thing at all, but I was impressed by the neat sewing.
The exhibition closes in February 2020, so there is still time to see it if you don't live too far away.

Looks fascinating, wish I was a bit nearer.

Looks great. Always such an expensive day out for me though with train fares etc. But a friend and I did do the Valentino was exhibition at Somerset House some years ago. That was stunning nad worth every penny as there were films of works in progress going on.

I saw the Valentino at Somerset House, but didn't think it was staged well. :(

I went a couple of months ago and loved it! A lot of ladies around a certain age were visiting! I used to love the make up - it was about all I could afford. I remember wearing the 'banana' nail varnish to school and being sent to the woodwork room to get it taken off! The clothes were so neat!

I still haven't made it there :( despite my best intentions. @KayK I remember the nail polish too, had a few colours given to me as presents and also a pair of yellow tights (!!). Thought I was incredibly posh wearing those (must have looked like Big Bird).
