Has anyone tried to sharpen a rotary cutter blade when you get a nick in them?
Yes, I've tried, it doesn't really work, but there is a slight improvement.
I use the smaller rotary cutters (28mm ?) find that much more economical.
I have several rotary cutters (8  :| ), I use the newer blades on finer fabric, these are much more inclined to "notice" any nicks in the blade.
Some makes of cutting mat are much more inclined to dull blades than others.
I always pin fabric and use a small cutting mat.

No entries yet? I did a whole wardrobe of baby's clothes in a fortnight, a bit nervous about putting it up.

Well done, everyone!

When we’re in Thailand, I stop sewing at 5:30pm for a gin & tonic watching the sunset
FGS  :D :D :D at 5:30pm I'm running around cooking dinner
Love the sea, but I'm content with my mini forest and inner city wild life.
I can only cut out on the floor, I get twinges in my back if I cut out on a table

Sewalongs and Competitions / Re: Stashbust in 2019

Not going to get out my stash and measure it, takes up to much valuable sewing time. No spread sheets for the same reason. 100m is a good estimate  ;)
I've got stuff on the go, I must take piccies.

What a lovely organized setup - but there's a problem, with a view like that how are you ever going to get any sewing done?

I managed to make 2 pairs of leggings within the time limit, no photos though. This thread spurred my sewing along, Can we carry on after the contest, or merge it with the UFOs?

Patterns Discussion / Re: New Vogue Patterns - Spring 2019

Like the fancy evening dresses, but don't have a Waitrose near me.
When I was little my mother told me it was important to get a wardrobe with enough height to hang a ballgown, I always
have - but I've never owned a ballgown.
I've given up with Vogue and the Big 4 (or is it 1) nowadays  :(, using PDFs from Sew Over It and Closet Case etc.
What happened, loved Vogue when their patterns came with 9 pages of very detailed instructions.

Wow, what wonderful things are being made here!
I've two pair of leggings on the go, using about 3m of lycra cotton jersey that I have had in my stash for at least 18 months. and this weekend I cut out a coat, 3.5m (2 years) of coating and 3m (4 years) lining. Just a tad worried I might be creating UFOs.  Now to get on with the marking.

They're going in the wash now to remove soluble stabiliser and blue pen marks for notches.

@Lachica , be careful about putting blue pen marks straight in the wash as sometimes this can leave a stain. Rinse in cold water first.

Can you sew along with this, or do you have to enter the competition?
My plan was to do 31 makes in 31 days  :S, how far have I got 0/31  ><.
