Post by: Adrian on October 25, 2021, 20:05:00 PM
I bought some time a go this Singer Melody 50. Every time i tried to use it, i got discourages, because I was not able to adjust the string tension, no matter what settings i changes.
the issue is that the string on the back is too loose.
Can anybody help me to adjust it?

Thank you,
Adrian

I presume you mean the thread tension?  The bobbin thread on the underneath of the fabric?

First thing to check is that you have the bobbin in the correct way round and it's threaded through correctly.  Your manual should help with this.

Secondly, if it the bobbin thread just pulling through a little bit, then it may be that you have the upper thread tension too tight.

Do you have the manual for the machine?  They usually have some machine specific troubleshooting tips. Do you buy this used?  If so were you able to test sew to make sure there isn't a problem with the machine?
