Title: What's this?

I think it might be a tracing wheel? Found in my mum's sewing box but I don't remember seeing it before. I also found this  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]  which looks more robust than my rotary cutter.

Looks like a tracing wheel to me too, or maybe for marking leather  -< nice old find though  :) :vintage:

I agree on the tracing wheel.

The black and red thing looks like a small rotary cutter without its blade, very handy once you've put a blade in.  They can get into the intricate bits better than a standard one.

Thanks @Ellabella and @Lilian. I hadn't thought about the possibility of using it for leather. I'll try it next time I trace. The handle feels lovely, smooth and much nicer than my plastic tracing wheel. @Ellabella the cutter has a blade and the guard works smoothly, again much easier than my new cutter. Think the blade may need replacing! I like the knurled brass centre.

I don't know why but I thought something to do with leather - I think a tracing wheel would be bigger.
