Hi Lowena,

Ah yes sojo going walk about, I know all about that just now. Reading this forum every day is keeping me in touch but that's as near as I've been getting to sewing just lately.  :'(  :'(  :'(

I got behind with everything when I was unwell earlier and going for all the heart tests and then having to get used to the tablets which made the symptoms worse in the short term.  So the sojo has gone missing underneath a pile of things that aught to be done ... that I don't feel like doing ..... so nothing is getting done.

The other trouble is I've got too many ideas or part ideas but none of them will jell/move forward. I do have various on-going projects/practice pieces. (My approach to our hobby is completley different to yours  :D)

So to answer your question :-

Mystery quilt.

Carry on with my Ruth Mc Dowell practise pieces. I love her work and have most of her books.  If you are not familliar with her work here is a link:-

http://www.ruthbmcdowell.com/clients/rbm/recent.cfm

As you will see from my practise pieces I have a loooooooooong way to go 0_0

Make some bits and bobs for stall/raffle prizes for party funds.

Maybe even make a small banner to take to the Burston Strike School Rally in September ... that's just a vague idea at the moment as I'm not sure my design skills will extend to that although I have been involved with making them in the past.

But really if anything comes and grabs me by the throat and compels me to get in that sewing room I'll be pleased to be draggesd there and will report back!

Thank you Sakar, I've just corrected it.   :flower:

It's gorgeous Brenda, very classy :)

I was a little bit startled to see 'Page Last updated Saturday 7 November 2017 22:40 GMT' I'd had a little snooze but I didn't think it had lasted 5 months  8)

Sewing Machines / Re: All my machines (Showing off)

Mmmm nice collection of sewing machines, Lyn-j. I wonder what the collective noun for sewing machines should be. A coven of sewing machines? A murmuration of sewing machines?  ;)

Either of those names would be ideal so maybe a 'murmurating coven'  :)

Oh I love your quilt Im and I don't think it is too crowded at all and the backing Brenda linked to is just perfect.....wandering off now to make tea whilst humming "Starry Starry Night" by Don McLean.

 0_0 0_0 0_0 That's exactly what I did!

I had in fact posted (or thought I had) a reply yesterday saying that I too thought the arrangement just perfect.  :)

Hello Stitches nice to have you here.  :flower:

What do you like to sew? I'm in 'the dark side' section of this board ie patchwork and quilting, but I enjoy reading all the sections so I'm looking forward to seeing your creations Wherever they may be.  :snip:  :pin: :thread:

I'm looking out of the window and waving in the general direction of Norwich! There are one or two others of us Norfolk Dumplings on the forum :)

I look forward to seeing some of your work.  :) I'm in the patchwork section otherwise known as 'the dark side'. Whatever you like doing there is plenty of advice and encouragement on this forum.

Awww bless her she's flown across the ocean .... wow! I'm glad rural England is suiting her, she's gorgeous.

As far as I know a member is shown as being logged on and available but they may not actually be looking at the site. Presumably if they are at the computer they will get a ping to say there is a message but if they've gone away they might not hear it. So dont get miffed and think you are being ignored  :)

EDIT:  Can I think of a name for this quilt...   no :(

You could always call it 'my first quilt' of 'opus one' or something. Hopefully you've thought of one now. :)

My quilts don't have names ( why would they? my cushions don't have names either  :D)
I know they won't become heirlooms because...
 a) they're piled up in the workshop and no one ever asks to see them, let alone want them.
b) they're not well made enough to withstand time  :|

Looking up bus and train timetables I'm on my way to come and look at them! I might even want one of them!
Get the kettle on and a pizza in the oven! I'll bring the salad and the bottle of wine. :toast:

My tree goes up on Christmas Eve and comes down twelve days later. If my pals knew I was even thinking about it I'd be locked up. They'd think I'd lost my marlies.  :|
I had to start early. Purple! I'll put off making it because I can't bear looking at it. I've had a helluva job picking it.  :x

You sound like my mum  0_0. She couldn't stand purples mauves those sort of colours. I love them together with jades and made myself this a while back. A cover for a file containing my lists of 'projects' to do sometime or other, ideas for same, UFO's and completed stuff. I love my lists great worry reducers.  :)

It looks much better in real life than on the photo (usually it's the other way round) I was supposed to cut away some of the chiffon/gauze type fabric but couldn't bring myself to do it as it looked alright anyway.

PS I don't do C*******s until the very last minute and always try to get out of it altogether!
