Excellent!  Just google "in the hoop" bags now, never mind little drawstring bags

@Bill Nooo, don't give up on it, you'll love it when it arrives!  Somewhere else may have one in stock.

Edit:  Tysew say they have them in stock - quick, order one!

Cloudy and very warm, 14°C this morning.

Today is mostly sorting out what I need to pack to go to my daughter's tomorrow - four days with my grandson, yippee!  Except it's always difficult with the dogs, Poppy is great, but Sasha gets so over excited and jumps about and barks.  Hoping now she's a bit older she'll be better, she does calm down a lot quicker these days.

The Show Must Go On / Re: Meg and Mog - Mog costume
« on: Yesterday at 19:02:48 »
I should have guessed really - my daughter has now asked if I have any fabric for a cloak for her to be Meg - and then she said they just have to work out how to make my almost-son-in-law into the Owl.

So the rest of the black fabric is put ready to go, along with a Mog mask (which he may not wear!) and now an owl mask and a white sheet.  But I've just realised the owl still needs a beak!

A hint of sun, and 8°C.

Good job we'd got up early for t'OH to take the car to the garage, Mr DPD was due between 8.24 and 9.24, and he arrived at 8.25 - we're normally still in bed at that time  :S

I saw this thread and thought that's not today's thread, it's Wednesday...

Hi, I'm new... / Re: Singer Melody 50 string tension
« on: October 25, 2021, 21:16:11 PM »
I presume you mean the thread tension?  The bobbin thread on the underneath of the fabric?

First thing to check is that you have the bobbin in the correct way round and it's threaded through correctly.  Your manual should help with this.

Secondly, if it the bobbin thread just pulling through a little bit, then it may be that you have the upper thread tension too tight.

@Bumblebuncher That's very funny - do they really think they are for left handers?

Yay, finished!  Apart from the tail, but I have that all worked out.

I just hope it fits him, and the neck goes over his head!

The Show Must Go On / Meg and Mog - Mog costume
« on: October 25, 2021, 13:09:26 PM »
This is proving to be more problematic than I thought it would be.
The trousers are just plain black so they're done.

The top isn't so straight forward, or at least the stripes aren't.  They need a jagged top edge, so I've cut into them, then sewn them on, but when I hold the fabric upright the jaggeddy bits sag.  Trying a bit of glue along the edges now...

Pics in a bit, just having lunch.

Sunny and 9°C.  The windows are covered in condensation outside  :S

More making the Mog cosume today, yesterday's delivery of white fur trim has been firmly sealed back in its bag after shedding most of its fluff all over the place.  I've now cut the edge off a blanket that has a sherpa pile fleece backing and will use that instead.  Still lots of fluff, but only where it's been cut.

Sunny but wafty, and 14°c now.

Busy sewing for a change - making a Mog costume for my little grandson - but must cut the grass this afternoon.

Cloudy and 8°C.

Today will be working out what/how I'm making a halloween costume for my grandson - nothing like giving me plenty of notice  :S
He's going to be Mog the cat from Meg and Mog, so black top and trousers with white fur ribbon (ordered yesterday) for the stripes and some black fur edging for the tail and ears.  Still need to decide/find something like a head band or maybe just elastic for aforesaid ears.
Hopefully I do have some black jersey of some sort for the top and trousers - just need some measurements from my daughter now...

A bit of sun, wafty and a bit warmer than yesterday, 8.3°C.  It's currently 10.5° in the greenhouse.

Off to doggy agility this morning, I'd better go with t'OH as otherwise I don't get to talk to anyone all week.
