@Ohsewsimple you are correct! The kiddos get the capes and the mothers get the beanies.
DD did try to get me to make both mothers a cape as well but I put my foot down at that. :S

@Ploshkin You're right in that there's a mix!  0_0
The jackets are indeed knit and the beanies next to them are crochet.
the 2 at the bottom are knit holding one dark grey yarn with a brushed Suri giving the marled effect. Good use of those single 25g skeins of brushed Suri.

@LeilaMay Simple dimple...The M1R means you pick up the loop from the rear(R for rear) and knit through the front leg..therefor the make one left is the opposite..pick up the loop from the front but then knit it through the back leg.  ;)

@Renegade Sewist Oh thank you!
It's been a rather stressful number of months and now, I'm just waiting to hear back from the Insurance company whether they'll come to the party for all the damaged family treasures. To say I feel the items were a tad targeted because of a 3rd party's rudeness is an understatement. I'm gutted, but I can't change anything, just hope that they get fixed properly.

I had to lose myself in mindless makes..intricate cables were just tripping me up and DD wanted these items this year. I hope the intended get a good number of days wear out of them before the heat but if they don't, they should still fit them for a couple more years.

@Ploshkin thanks for the revive!
i have been awol for personal reasons, now the last part of that is a waiting game..just had some Grandie hugs and came home with a dose of something that she had..so I have everything crossed it's not the C word. Just felt good enough to go today and get a proper test done. Speaking of which..down here, they're now also including Infl A and B.
Haven't had much concentration these past couple of months but it was enough to do the two capes and beanies, plus a proper mummy and me beanie set.
Now maybe it's back to bear time. Yours looks adorable and you're right, everyone deserves a bear no matter their age. Can't wait to see your bear in all his magnificence.
just and FYI, I knit my son one when he was in his mid 20's and he's rapt with him.

Two gorgeous, delicious pieces of yumminess!!!!!

The tan is like a shorthair/sparse(?) straight pile of about 9mm and the cream/off white is a delicious long pile of about 20mm.

Thank you  :hug: thank you  :* thank you!  :hug: :* :hug:

@Iminei I took a guess(knowing how much I have trouble capturing certain colours) but, I did just do a recap through the thread and noticed the shot with all of Flobears bits on the green board. I reckon that might be close to the mark.

@Ann I know you've finished, but would it be worth placing a dart in the back shoulder area so it's not seen from the front to make it sit better?

It's a lovely little set.

@Flobear oh how wonderful! Is she a pale green?
I'm impressed with you all going for the teeny tiny!!!  :perfect10:

Methinks if I ever see a pattern of a tiny that I absolutely love, I'll be taking the pattern to the library and increasing the size!  ;)

My need to do some mindless stockinette has seen me cast off the six year size hooded cape yesterday.
I'd already made the next size 2 hood before starting the body of the other one so today, I'll just aim to pick up the body sts of the 2 year cape.
Then all I'll have to do on both is crochet a loop, sew on a button and make and attach a tassel to each hood.

When they're done, then I'll have to make the adults a matching beanie of sorts with the same yarns.

Just an FYI for those who pop in here and might be interested in making something stranded.
Going along the theme of a stranded jumper/sweater, I'm putting in a link to ravelry to show you how to use it as a tool or a 'library' of sorts if you're ever looking for something specific to knit and/or crochet.
The parameters I selected for this search were, 'knitting', I chose 'free', then under clothing I chose 'pullover', colour work I chose 'stranded' and for age I chose 'adult'... oh and 'has photo'.

These can all be found down the left hand column when searching patterns. You could go further and select the ply of yarn to narrow your field further.

HTH.  :)
