Looking lovely @Stitches . That’s a lot of scraps!

Here’s my finished scrap flannel quilt. It has cotton wadding and is backed with fleece that I bought as a remnant on EBay. I still have lots of it left, though I’ll back the other scrappy quilt with it too.The narwhals turned out to be bigger than expected, but it’s fine as a backing. It’s a lovely soft cosy quilt to the touch. I was tempted to keep it, but what would I do with it?

The 2 scrap quilts I’ve finished will be off to the post office and Project Linus later with another one I made last year, but don’t really love.

Amazing @BrendaP , what a lovely use of scraps. What do you plan to do with it when it’s finished?

Love the log cabin design and the quilting: it’s beautiful  :loveit:

That’s a beautiful cushion @Starryfish . It must have taken ages to make.

I usually make them between 36” and 40” square @Lowena . The flannel one is just 25” square, but apparently they do use smaller ones for babies.

Thanks for the comments :D. I now have the fleece backing for my second scrappy quilt. Yesterday I had a bit of a tidy up and found a bag of flannel scraps left over from making burp cloths, so I quickly ran up a simple baby quilt, which I might put in my Project Linus bag if I get it finished quickly enough. Here it is so far.

It’s such a cold horrible morning here, that I sat down under a cosy quilt to hand sew the binding on my scrap quilt, so here it is all ready to send to Project Linus. :D It doesn’t look square even though it is, must have taken the photo at a slight angle.

I’ve done a bit of hand sewing on my scrappy quilt binding. I must email the Project Linus organiser to let her know I have 2 quilts ready for her.

Have you looked on ravelry? There are quite a few possibilities there.

Got my first scrap quilt sandwiched today. I managed to use 2 left over bits of fleece on the back : a central section with yellow and grey elephant pattern and 2 strips of pale blue fleece down each side. I made it with a few centimetres to spare. :D
Also found a square of wadding, which was only slightly bigger than the top,  so a great use of left overs, which seems appropriate for a scrap quilt. I then started quilting it , but have stopped now to start making dinner. I’ll post a pic when it’s finished and ready for Project Linus.

Thanks all. The new mum lives in Ireland, so I intend to take them over when we go there later this Spring. I wouldn’t want to trust all that work to the postal services. I took the photo to send to the baby’s grandmother and just thought I’d share it.

Yes, quite a few greens in there. Not necessarily coordinated

The sage green pattern is a really old pattern, my mother used it when I was a baby.

I love knitting for new babies. These are all the things I’ve done since Christmas for a cousin’s grandchild due in the summer- a special baby which is quite a surprise first baby. I also sewed a nappy caddy and some burp cloths . They don’t know the sex of the baby, so I had to keep things neutral.
Don’t know what I’m going to do now- no more family babies in the offing.

I sewed most of my second scrap quilt top together. Now I have to try to find backing for them both.
