In the wardrobe / Re: Style arc Lacey
« on: June 04, 2019, 22:57:21 PM »
That sounds lovely... both the fabric and your dress.  Yes, please, for a picture.

I too am busy tweaking not only the Lacey but also the Sydney dresses, both of which look like what's needed for our hot, humid Virginia summers (with some southwestern trips on the way to the grandchildren).  I'm short and um, wider than what the patterns have in mind... but I love their style and drafting.

Dolls and Toys / Re: Sewing For Dolls
« on: May 18, 2019, 19:30:23 PM »
I have a couple of dolls that are American Girl size... one of them a return from DGD as "she didn't play well with the others".   :o 0_0  My latest temptaion is Lydia of the Girl for All Time family.  I have Amelia and she's lovely.
I've made AG doll clothes on commission for DGD ("Gwandma, they need pink!").

Ann, your creations are so inspiring... thank you for sharing them.

Hi, I'm new... / Bookish unlurks
« on: September 02, 2018, 23:41:43 PM »
Greetings from a lurker... My what a wonderful group of people.  Who could resist a site that provides a fish slap  :loveit:   I see many friends from other sites and am glad to see them here.

I live in Virginia, where once it was farm land, but now is home to creeping suburbs.  Hot and humid in the summers, raw and bone chilling damp in the winter.  So we travel.  Offspring in Chicago and Southern California (it is very important to plant offspring where the food is good) means some serious wanderings.

I got fed up with RTW and started sewing most of my clothes years ago... I'm getting better at it.

Patchwork & Quilting ... Welcome to the Darkside / Re: The Village
« on: August 16, 2018, 20:11:32 PM »
Thank you, I will post more... promise.

I'm a garment sewer (me, granddaughter and her dolls) but you of The Dark Side are truly awesome... colors, precision (garments you can fudge  ;)) and, gulp, geometry.  Thanks for all your wonderful work.

What an amazing piece of work... and a splendid tribute to 'Vege'.

I've been lurking here, admiring and in awe, but just had to comment.
