10% Discount on tickets if you use code TRADE 11.
-
The code is no longer valid. :(
-
:'( why are they always too far away
-
Knitting & stitching is a travelling show and as well as London (March and October) there is Harrogate and Dublin. The Glasgow leg has been dropped.
-
Is Harrogate not within reach @Surest1tch? Tea at Betty's after?

Actually it was Edinburgh they came to - twice. Then they cancelled :( (mind you, it was about a quarter the size of Harrogate)
-
@Surest1tch I went to the Harrogate one a couple of years ago and it was well worth it. Might have to have another trip this year 0_0 :fabric: :thread: :wool: :pin:
-
I'm going to Ally Pally on the Thursday! There will be fabric :fabric: bought and maybe :wool: :thread: :thread:.

How strange, it came via Higgs and Higgs newsletter on the 13 Sept.
-
Have you tried the code without the space between TRADE and 11? The discount codes I saw for a festival of quilts this year were all single “words”.
-
@Tamnymore & @Ellabella I'm going to have to look into the Harrogate one. Any idea what the parking situation is like? Last time I was in Harrogate the parking was hopeless, I'd only gone to a runners shop for some trainers, gave up and came home without any.
I'm not a runner I'd broken a metatarsal and was advised by a physio to get some proper supportive trainers.
-
Sorry @Surest1tch I've only ever gone by train.
-
I think I have missed the ticket offers - none on Groupon, the London ticket club or LittleBird from which I have bought heavily discounted tickets in the past.
@StitchinTime: the code has definitely expired and the site says so in no uncertain terms.

@Surestitch. I went to the Harrogate show last year and really enjoyed it. I just looked for coach trips online as that was the most economical option for me (first coach trip since I was at school a long time ago). Might be worth investigating.

If enough of you wanted to go, we could probably get a group rate like I do for FOQ.
Yes it is exactly the same (and same company) as FOQ ... Adult price would be £11, Child £6.50
If anyone is interested let me know as soon as possible as there is only a month to go.
-
I normally go. You just need to find 10 more (https://www.theticketfactory.com/theknittingandstitchingshow/online/default.asp?doWork::WScontent::loadArticle=Load&BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::article_id=EDF69A2E-5113-46CE-86B9-AD4A547DBAA1) people.

I'm planning to go on the Thursday again (with the OH so that's 2 tickets). We got our tickets via LittleBird last year thanks to UR's advice.
We're both OAP rate but that's still £3 more each than the group rate if you get enough interest.
-
Every year me and Mum think about going but we always say the problem is you need to go with loads of cash in your pocket and when it rolls around I never seem to have enough :\ @Jane ?
I'd like to. I say that every year. I used to go and I loved it. 13th/14th Oct? I will
-
I have no money for a big spend, but still go. Last year, I bought the button spacer from the Lutterloh demo stand and was really pleased.
@Marniesews: nothing from LittleBird this year. :(
-
Okay ...
I'll do it.
If you want a ticket, please consider getting it from here ....
the cost will be
Adult £11
Child £6.50
+ £1.50 P&P per transaction.
But please register your interest soon so I can see if we will be getting the numbers needed.

I've just been catching up with some Arne and Carlos Youtube videos, and they will be at the Knitting and Stitching show. They are so entertaining, and do some beautiful knitting, crochet etc. I'm sure they would be worth a look.

Yes, group tickets can be used on any day or multiple days
-
I am unlikely to go ... Why not ask on FB or another forum?

@Surest1tch I usually go to the Harrogate show and park in West Street multi car park (https://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/carpark/west_park_multi_storey/hg1/harrogate/?arriving=201809181600&leaving=201809181800), don't usually have a problem finding a space. But if you miss the turning you end up having to go all the way round Harrogate one way system again.
-
@Francesca: these days a couple of hours is enough for me. For those less familiar with the show, half a day is plenty.
I normally go on the first day when it's relatively quiet and consequently less hot, but if we can muster the numbers for a group save, Saturday is okay.
-
@UttaRetch ... just because I buy the tickets as a group .... doesnt mean we have to go as a group. You can go on whichever day/s you would like, with or without the other ticket holders.
I found for FOQ it really is the most economical way to visit the show above even the slight discount you get as an exhibitor.
The ONLY proviso is that I must sell 10 tickets or more.
-
Thanks for the clarification @Iminei. Come on Londoners, surely we can drum up 11 bods.
-
Would love to go but have no transport
-
I can't go :'( I can't do the Saturday or Sunday and am working Thursday & Friday have no holiday left :'( :'(
-
@Tamnymore & @Ellabella I'm going to have to look into the Harrogate one. Any idea what the parking situation is like?
I think it is slightly out of town and has its own car park. Google the conference centre or whatever they call it.
-
I might be up for it - after all, the train south to Ally Pally starts from my local station! The problem is I am knee-deep in system testing at the moment and can't see far enough ahead to settle on a date. If the group booking retains the flexibility of day and gives a discount, count me in. Otherwise I'll see how things pan out and make a last-minute decision.
Last time I was there I came away with a new work lamp for the sewing space, some Ernest Wright shears (must have been just before the KickStarter campaign in that case), bulk purchases of cotton sewing thread in useful colours, and sore feet!
The week days are quieter than the week ends, despite being fairly stiff with textile student groups.

Yes ... @HenriettaMaria
Any Day/s! with or without anybody else! £11 per ticket (+ £1.50 P&P per transaction)

K&S at Ally Pally is something I go to only occasionally, and only if someone locally is running a coach, which isn't happening this year.
I won't consider driving right through London myself and public transport from here to AllyPally is just not practical. I'm 10 miles from the nearest station, so thats 3/4 hour to get there, park and walk across to the station - or the same length of time on a bus. Followed by a train into London and at least two changes of bus/train/tube, possibly with a 500m walk as well. About three hours travelling plus the waits between connections, and then the same journey home again.
Sorry, but I won't be going this year. :'(
-
I've been away for a few days but it looks like we've not achieved the required number to book as a group. If not, I'll book our tickets in the next couple of days
-
Yes Sorry! Maybe next year we can hire a charabanc and pick up TSPers on the way! :)
-
I usually go to Harrogate but can’t this year, it clashes with our 4 day craft fair.
-
I will be there with @Fabric Lover on Thursday if anyone wants to meet.
-
@Lachica I'm going Thursday too so that would be nice. Shall we swap phone numbers & suggest a time and place? :)

@Marniesews I sent you a pm. @Iminei thanks.
-
I must amalgamate all my lists this evening! As usual it's a very mixed bag and who knows what I'll actually buy. I had several regrets last time so I'm going to be a bit more circumspect this time, I think...perhaps. ;) :D
