Fun with Fabric / Re: Give me advice on this fabric please
« on: June 25, 2017, 17:21:05 PM »
According to this website
http://www.fabricgodmother.co.uk/fresia-viscose-challis-black/
the fabric is suitable for a blouse. It does however, apparently shrink slightly. Viscose can be awkward to sew, I don't mind it but it can feel quite 'flimsy' and some do fray quite a lot. Love the fabric it's a really pretty pattern.

I like this website  as they give free patterns but lots of advice, hints and tips.

The Haberdashery / Re: making pattern weights

I use big flat washers from B&Q they are about 2"square with a hole in the middle and are quite heavy. Not cheap but I've had them for quite a few years now and they don't take up much room.

That is lovely, I like the appliqued hearts and I love pink and grey together. Well done with the seam matching too.

Don't beat yourself up Iminei, the BOM weren't meant to form anything, they were/are tutorials to get us to try different blocks - with VERY good results (not mine). I chose to use the same fabrics because that is what I found at the start. I put them together - on the floor to see what they looked like and took the photo. It's a great big THANK YOU from me because without what you have done I would probably still be doing easy stuff. Whether I put them into a quilt at the end remains to be seen.

I'm not going to participate this month as I don't have any suitable fabric, but I'll definitely be back in July. :flower: <3  :flower:
I did mine with the same fabric that I've used for the other blocks, no Japanese type fabric in sight.
