@Sandra , I am another who has not yet started - need to go to get some fabric this weekend. Have a couple of nice bits, but need a couple of bits more. This weekend will be devoted to my mug rug ....can't wait!

Have sent my details to Iminei. I am away until Wednesday on a mini break so I won’t be doing anything about this until next weekend (unless I come across any darling little fabric shops in the south of France...)

@Lowena, why on earth would anyone want you to "sit it out"? Someone said "the more, the merrier" somewhere on the board, and I kinda think the same should apply...

Thanks @Pearl this is going to be fun...I am not, of course already mentally deciding on fabrics ...or anything like that...Of course I'm not!!!

I'm in....I just hope I am up to scratch!!! Will do my very best... :)

Not having done this sort of thing before, do you know who you will be crafting for, in advance, or do you just make it and get told just before posting date?

Sounds like fun...only I am not very good! I am still at the very basic level, but would love to participate!

Thanks for the explanation @wrenkins  :loveit:

I cannot for the life of me see anything "wonky" about it - I love it, and I am sure the recipient will too. Now I cant wait to see when it is all quilted !

thanks to all of you for such a warm welcome! At the moment I am not doing a lot of sewing as some of the days are so hot that sweaty hands ( :x) preclude sewing or any crafts, to be honest; but I cannot wait for cooler weather when I can spend lovely cool afternoons cursing happily to myself and sewing wonky seams!

@Lachica : Actually, you don't sound moany at all. I know what you mean. Much as I love the summer here (am a bit of a lizard these days) I would not want to live near the sea. I live in a small village nestled in the mountains about 40 kms from the beach. I love the availability of the beach, but would hate to live on the coast, as there are sooooo many people on holiday; no offense meant by this, I just love the solitude of the beach in winter.

@Lachica

Hi, I am in Girona province - not quite as warm as you, but warm enough at this time of year - you say you are on your way back to UK, permanently, or for a visit?

Hello to everyone! I am so pleased to have found this forum! I was a member of the old TSF and missed it so much when it disappeared! I imagine not many of you will remember me, as I did no post often, but so many of your names are familiar from TSF. I learned a great deal from many of you!
 I have not been sewing much over the last four years due to work commitments - looooong story, but such is life, but I think that I will now be able to devote a bit more time to my beloved hobby. I am not very good, a newbie really, but I do enjoy sewing. I love quilting, but am also trying hard to learn more about dressmaking.

As for the rest of what makes me tick; I love cooking, and experimenting with different styles of cuisine, I am married to a long suffering Mr. Man, who puts up with the trail of pins and thread that surrounds me, and I have three children, the older two, girl and boy, are all grown up, and the youngest girl, is 12 and now about to start secondary school. I love animals and we have one dog, chihuahua, Pocket, who is eight and two cats, one is in my avatar, that is Domino, and Bobbie, who is a recent rescue, an ENORMOUS Maine Coone.

So, I look forward to being here and sharing in this lovely forum. By the way, I have baked an enormous chocolate cake, would anyone like a piece?  0_0
