Title: Samplers
Post by: KayK on February 04, 2018, 22:10:46 PM
If anyone fancies a trip to Cambridge, there is a fantastic display of Samplers, originating from the 1600's at the Fitzwilliam museum.   The stitching is superb - even my husband was amazed at the work done by 7 year old girls.  The good old Fitzwilliam is free too!

I have a beautiful sampler. It’s modern in comparison to those, but is 13ft long!! It was made in 1903 in France at a Religious Ursuline school.
