There’s a couple of buttonholers on eBay advertised as for slant shanks, they may not have the correct plate but you can drop the dogs instead and if they don’t fit your slant shank you can return/complain.

They are unlikely to fit a 301a as the angle of the slant is slightly different.

The device should fit a 401.

Thanks, Roger.  A buttonholer for my Mother's Singer 401 is on my radar.
