Do you have a twin needle?  That is going to give the best result.

In the wardrobe / Stretchy fabric novice

I bought a t shirt online, that is way too long, making it look like a nightie( not a good look!) I need to cut about 4” off and hem it. I’m mainly a quilter and craft sewer and although I have made clothes way back in the past and scrubs during Covid, I’ve not really used stretchy fabric.
Does anyone have a Janome machine, who can advise which stitches are best? I’ve googled, but can’t find anything too clear. I’ve got a TXL607. I’m guessing that I’ll need to finish the edge and then turn it up and hem.

Doesn’t look too bad @Bodgeitandscarper

I’ve pinned sleeve linings in place on my coat.  Was going to stitch them in but decided to tack them and see how they were.  It’s also going to be easier to sew them like that.  But that’s for another day.

Looks tidy compared to mine @Bodgeitandscarper. I have so much dumped in there now I have to step over stuff to get to the chair- which is piled up  ><

Working on my Katherine Tilton top. Managed to catch in the pocket in one side seam so unpicking was done ...  more than once. Fortunately the other side seam was fine possibly because I'd practised on the first seam! Now doing shoulders and then will try it on - hoping for no unpleasant surprises!

A bit thin in the SR's today. I've been up there getting nowhere fast.
Think I've done it now but will look tomorrow with fresh eyes

Just sneaking in before I leave my sewing room for the dog grooming table.
Bag making again, but have now come to a halt as despite having three boxes of embroidery threads, I don't have a burgundy.  Hopefully Jaycotts do their normal speedy service.  In fact, just looked, ordered at 15:06 and despatched at 15:38.
A pic of the mess I work in...

I started doing the first wedge (dart?) on the waistband of a pair of chinos. I cut the wedge twice, as I didn't leave enough excess to fold back on the first one. I pinned it and tacked it to one side, then halfway through stitching proper, I realised I had threaded the needle with regular sewing thread, instead of the jeans thread I'd bought for the job.

So I ended up (almost) stitching again down that same line with the same thread. I left the general purpose thread in, and offset the jeans thread to it very slightly. After that, I pinned the wedge in place to do the other side, but my eyes got tired, and stomach started growling, so I broke off for a while. As I sat there eating a Cumberland sausage and fried egg butty, I decided food like this is worth having to let a waistband out a bit...

I might pick it back up again later, even if it's only to run a tack line through. I would like to try to get one side complete though, if my eyes are up to the task.

Hideout Hen.1

I made this cushion from some blue cotton that I had left over from making screens for my wardrobe.( Also painted) The piping I made from silver lame' and piping cord. The lame was a left over from my belly dancing days. I'd forgotten how awful it is to sew with!
I painted the heron to match in with the theme of my sewing room.

The back has a concealed zip.
