M8003 and M8006 could have been in one envelope, seeing as they have been styled together. Butterick did that a couple of years ago I remember. So annoying.
CR

Actually I prefer it when they don’t style separates together as very often I don’t like both (or all) pieces and I resent paying more for patterns when I only like one of the pieces.

Sewalongs and Competitions / Re: Stashbust in 2019
« on: July 20, 2019, 06:31:01 AM »
My stashbust plans for 2019 were so ambitious- it was to only buy/otherwise acquire fabric on a 3:1 ratio with sewn/given away, that is 3 metres out to 1 metre in. I was doing well with this for the first quarter of the year, mainly due to having made some curtains for which fabric was ready and waiting, 17 metres used up.

Now though, mainly due to some recent purchases, the ratio has gone way out of the window- 56 metres out to 42 metres in!

While you’re waiting for her to reappear, have a look at the Linton Tweeds website and see if you spot anything similar.

I’ll try that -thanks @StitchinTime

And also a narrow zigzag stitch so that the seams will stretch with the fabric otherwise your seam could break.

If you’re going to do a muslin you need to use fabric with the same amount of stretch or it would be pointless. Yes I would pre-wash the fabric. I would go by the bust size as it’s easier to add to the side seams for the waist and hips, but I’ve never made Style Arc pattern up so can’t help there. Make sure you use a needle suitable for knit fabric.

@Fabric Lover , it’s lovely.

I used some variegated machine embroidery cotton for the top stitching. I also made one in Ivory and used a salmon coloured sulky thread on that. It really makes the pintucks stand out.

Great idea!

Your shirt is lovely @ Holly Berry.

The first photo I posted of this shirt was before buttons and buttonholes had been added, so this is the finished article.

@Fabric Lover , thank you for the pattern number!  Good to have a positive opinion.  I have a feeling I may already have this pattern, I must have a look.  You didn't by any chance make the trousers did you?

Jessie
No I don’t have the trousers pattern sorry!

Jessie,
I have the shirt pattern- B6026 - and love it! I’ve made it twice, the first was in a very busy print, cotton lawn. I like it but the main feature if the pintucks is completely lost. The second in a plain fabric is my favourite shirt. I will see if I have any photos. The tip I would give on this is to stabilise the area of the pintucks otherwise they go wavy - ask me how I know!
