Thanks @Iminei for posting the pic :* But I have to admit that this is just the finished quilt-top, not the entire quilt.

A good friend of mine just got a new longarm-machine this summer and she will make the longarm-quilting for me. :D

I am so glad too that this is done now.  As Iminei said, I took me a while to complete it, and the crucial point was that a very very very nice friend of mine reminded me with a recent fatquarter-suprise to catch up with this wonderfull hobby again  0_0 :*

OMG  that is drop dead gorgeous @Sakar ! I love cheddar and blue quilts. The combination is always stunning to me.

There are 2 finishes in quilting. First the flimsy (quilt top) and then a completed quilt. One of the Gee's Bend quilters, in an interview in one of the books about them, said something to the effect that having finished quilt tops in a cupboard was like having gold in the bank. You could make them when you had the time and fabric. That then it was easy to add a filler and back.

For them all quilts were utility quilts quilts and heavily used. A lot of time the kids slept on piled up quilts, no bed available.

So be proud of any quilt top you finish.

@Renegade Sewist That's a what thought  :) Yes, you are right, it's a very satisfying feeling to take a picture of the finished top .

@Iminei  >< THERESA has her big longarm machine for some years (and is still trying to make her business).
But yes, you are right, PETRA has a longarm now too, but quite new, she got it in July. So it's her first one  ;)

She told me to send you her best wishes!
 She also helps me with the "Oakshott Cubes"  :)

I'm not a quilter, but I do recognise something really lovely when I see it  :loveit:

For anyone else who, like me, weren't a member back in 2017 but are now drooling after seeing what @Sakar made and the other lovelies I have ferreted out the original "destructions"  (https://thesewingplace.org.uk/index.php/topic,426.0.html)as @Iminei  called them.

Very tempting.
