Working on my Katherine Tilton top. Managed to catch in the pocket in one side seam so unpicking was done ...  more than once. Fortunately the other side seam was fine possibly because I'd practised on the first seam! Now doing shoulders and then will try it on - hoping for no unpleasant surprises!

Completely agree about wrap dresses @Starryfish ..A wrap dress can look nice but you spend your time adjusting it, pulling it tighter so it doesn't fall open and then eventually you find yourself sewing poppers on to stop it gaping. The DVF wrap dress was the only pattern Vogue didn't put in their sale - maybe it's just the DVF name.

I overlooked the main sections of my new Marcy Tilton top then sewed the centre back to the side backs. I've sewn pocket facings to the fronts then sewn on the pockets to the pocket facings. Will sew the side seams and shoulders tomorrow then I can have a try on. That's always slightly nerve wracking as it's the first chance to see how it looks.

We had a nice walk to a favourite cafe this morning and the sun came out so I found myself divesting layers as I walked and carrying coat, scarf etc. I'd almost got to the point of taking off my cardigan too when we arrived home  :faints:

The moral of the tale?  The weather does not behave as expected but then we knew that so it is expected... I think!

Doesn't seem warm enough to me yet  for the 'summer wardrobe '. Once it's ok for bedding plants to go outside sounds about right. But of course layers may be the answer. Iobe a good cardigan.

Thanks for posting the link @Deafoldbat . I love anything like that.

And when 'new money' came in @HenriettaMaria schools made a big thing about being able to convert from pound, shillings and pence to the new decimal currency but of course it didn't matter after a few weeks - we all got used to it quickly. I remember my poster for a project about the change to decimalisation read: 'The end is nigh. Repence!'

Sounds like hard work @Elnnina but good to get these things sorted.

Hope your eyes settle down quickly @Bjay . I've cut larger neckbands for my twin grandsons' tee shirts. Looks better. I'm attaching the sleeves then I'll run up the side seams. This means I can take the tee shirts and matching shorts for the boys to try on tomorrow then if all is well I'll finish them for the weekend.

Doing the necklines of my toddler tee shirts and the neckbands look rather small to me. I know they have to be smaller than the neckline to lie flat but..... I'm going to sew one on but not irrevocably overlock to see how it looks.  ::thinks::
