#1 sewmuchmore’s 1st entry
Dress is for a family wedding later in the year.
Dress made from silk and a piece of decorated poly from stash, originally bought from Bombay stores in Bradford.
Pattern used is McCalls 6280 which I have made quite a few times. The only alteration I made was to raise the neckline. I did have to remove some of the sequins from the seam line but luckily not many

#2 sewmuchmore’s 2nd entry
Dress for a surprise birthday party.
Pattern used New Look 6145, again a pattern I have used many times. I have added pockets to the front.
The fabric is silk which has the pattern embossed onto it. Again from Bombay Stores

#3 greybird’s entry
This is my entry. The pattern is BD6320. I have made it full length and put the split in the back. The bust shaping on this pattern is quite clever. I couldn't see how it would work but it does. The darts are in the centre, not the sides. I am a D cup and it fits really well. I bought the fabric on Ebay a bargain I think at just over £30.
All the darts and seams are lined up exactly - except one! I unpicked it and redid it 4 times but it is still about 2mm out and I can't understand why - I pinned through the stitching on both pieces as usual. I didn't think the fabric would stand being unpicked again so I have left it. For this reason, I have made a belt just in case someone stands behind me and notices! It doesn't yet have belt carriers so I haven't pictured it on the dress. The buckle is a vintage one - from Ebay again!
Because we are going on a cruise and the air conditioning can be chilly, I made a waist length jacket from the leftovers. It is V8963 modified.
Sorry about the sideways pictures, I couldn't get it all in otherwise.

All done..this is my entry for the Posh Frock contest.
It’s the Vintage shirt Dress from Sew Over It. Fabric from Seasalt, fully lined with cotton lawn. I added side pockets. It fits really well.

#5 Bodgeandscarper’ entry
...and here's mine at last - don't worry about voting for it, it's not posh after all, and I'm only here to make up the numbers as usual 0_0
I did learn a new technique, the burrito method of adding a lining, it's brill!

I also learnt about stay tape for arm and neck holes, and one of you wonderful peeps even sent me some ( @Elnnina , many, many thanks :) )
I can only say, the more I look at it the less I think it's anywhere near posh enough for a wedding, and I would make something else in a posher fabric, if only I could find something, and that something would have to work with the silk jacket as that fabric cost so much, and the silver and grey shoes, bag, and fascinator - it's not going to happen, is it?
I've added a pic of the jacket too, but if you look closely, you'll probably realise that isn't anywhere near finished, I was folding and pinning the length and the front edges to see what works best.
Anyway, here you go, a frumpy frock for a fat lass...

Wow! Thank you so much everyone! We got back late yesterday evening and I followed a message in my emails but I was too tired to string 2 words together. I can't quite believe it with the other lovely entries. I did wear the dress while we were away - without the jacket and the belt - and I got one or two compliments which was nice. I thought you might like to see it. It isn't a very good photo I don't think - OH looks as if he is preventing me from keeling over and it highlights some defects in the stitching/pressing, but I shall gloss over that!
