Hi,

after some weeks of nothing to show, I have started a new thread for my projects, because it is not 2017 any more, and with the little sunshine in our flat, the project-types will also change a bit (I think).

So, what have I done in the last weeks? Of course fabric shopping  :D And with the new fabrics I have sewn a nice little quilt for the cats:

70x70cm, made out of only 4 fatquarters (but there was really nothing left :P), machine sewn an quilted, colours matching to our couch.

The Haberdashery / What's that? Any experience or advice?
« on: March 13, 2018, 22:03:00 PM »
If I am posting in the wrong section, please move or delete the thread.

I just found this online and I wanted to ask, if anybody has ever worked with it?
Odif Odicoat

It seems to be a gel for coating fabrics to make them waterproof.
Any experience, tips or hints for processing?
How long does it need to dry?
How many layers are needed to become waterproof?
Can it be used on any fabric? Cotton, denim,...
Can the fabric be washed afterwards?
What about ironing?
How is it in the sewing machine?
What about durability? Decreases quality really that fast after the "best before date"?
It is enough for how much fabric?

It sounds interesting, but I'm very sceptical  ;)

Current Projects / Log Cabins for my niece
« on: April 23, 2017, 09:59:23 AM »
My godchild has become 18 this year and she will finish college in June, to conitnue on university in autumn. That's reason enough to make a nice quilt in her favourite colours.
I must admit that I have never really sewn a LogCabin, although I have a whole book of this wonderful pattern at home.

So it's a LogCabin Quilt to be  :)

That's the plan:

And that's my first success after 3h of sewing  :D

The fabric was chosen be DH and even prewashing and ironing was done by the best husband in the world  :loveit:

I started my "Star in space" in 2015, but today I finished with the label :D

It's sewn after a tutorial of MSQC called "binding tool star", but I enlarged it a bit.

Machine sewn, machine quilted, 160x210cm.
