Hub has it on his phone and uses it quite a lot, because once it's translated (instructions mainly) he can capture it as a photo and then enlarge it to make it readable!

Patterns Discussion / Re: Ease on Style Arc Patterns?

I've made 2 Style Arcs from a PDF pattern, and learnt my lesson, - get a tape measure out and measure the pattern. Both were absolutely massive. It may be worth making a toile first so you get an idea of fit - I wish I had

I would look at laminate again, I've got it in my sewing room, it's extremely practical, and easy to install. It's been down a few years and still looks good, it would look even better if i stop the chair castors gumming up with thread!

Fran - i keep the TSP tab open on the iPad all the time, I don't log in or out. I press 'recent unread topics' when I come back to the forum .... and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I don't log in on other devices.
Does this help?

Fun with Fabric / Re: Off to Fabworks
« on: June 02, 2017, 13:10:45 PM »
I was in there at Easter and it just gets better and better. I also second Lucky Fabrics/Fashions, a lovely lady! I went in there first and bought loads  ;) - well worth a visit but she is cash only, she has some really nice stuff, I found some lovely linen there for £5/m. I'm pretty sure she is still Weds and Sat, she tried to encourage me to start a branch over here!
I had lunch at a cafe on Foundry Street (I think the cafe was called Lunch) run by two Polish ladies and it was excellent.
I thought the Pound A Yard shop was ok, there was a good selection of upholstery fabric when I was last in, but the rest of the stuff left me a bit underwhelmed.
Another place I like is Bombay Stores in Bradford, their trimmings are are just lush, I'm not a fan of their fabric though.

This happened again this morning. If I clear the history on the iPad, it takes me to login, I then log in and I get whatever has been posted in the last 5mins.

Mine does it too, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Might be iPad related.

Patterns Discussion / Re: Paper for tracing patterns off
« on: March 31, 2017, 13:12:13 PM »
Decided to try the interfacing tip on a pattern yesterday, it didn't work. I used some light interfacing but it wouldn't stick to the pattern at any price, stuck well on the ironing board cover but not the pattern. Palmer/Pletsch also recommend this method, any clues?

In the wardrobe / Re: Pin tucks

When you start to sew at the bottom of a pin tuck leave a longer thread tail than usual so you can pull the threads to the wrong side and knot them. (Ask me how i know...)
