A thanks to Imei for sorting out my registration. I am retired, make stuff (lots of different stuff!, mostly on sewing machines) and my current interest is Japanese dressmaking books (although I haven't made anything from them yet, as I may end up looking like a bag lady encased in oatmeal linen.
Xmas makes were PJs for DD, a xmas sack and hotwater bottle for DGS, and I appliqued his dad's (bought) t- shirts with gnomes from a patchwork remainder.
DD unearthed (and wears) a famous Fair Isle sweater (Prince of Wales pattern) that my mother knitted 30 years ago for her father - I checked online and they are nearly £300 to buy.
I was Mcgintie on Stitchers Guild.
And...I have actually met Manuela!

Hello, @jintie and welcome :toast:! x

Hello @jintie :), I thought your name sounded familiar before I got to the end of your post and realised 'yes' I was correct! Nice to see you here and look forward to your posts.

Welcome Jintie.

Great to see you here @jintie, welcome to The Sewing Place. Interesting name you chose. When I first read it, I pronounced it in a Chinese way and was wondering which characters were used.
It could be:
津贴 - allowance
紧贴 - stay close
金 贴 - gold sticker
I didn’t make it to Bristol this year, as this year’s event was outside term break - it’s high on the agenda next year though.
You forgot to mention that you also met the lovely Mr Manuela ;)

Welcome to TSP.
I have a couple of the Japanese Pattern Magic books. I haven't used them yet but hoping to get the time when I finish work. Mine are in Japanese! :o. But they are fascinating.

Hello and welcome! I am not too far from you.

Welcome @jintie :flower: :drink:

I too have two Japanese project books, mostly bags and such, some clothing too ... also in Japanese (but with excellent pictorial destructions)
Ive had them up for sale for a while on FB, they are quite rare and somewhat valuable, but Ive had no takers as yet ... :(
