Post by: Efemera on April 18, 2018, 17:29:54 PM
I’ve got yards of denim..it has no Lycra and is really stiff, is there any way of softening it?

Years since when jeans were really stiff we used to wet them through, roll them up and freeze them. Apparently freezing breaks down the fibres. Then thaw them out and stick in washer with a tennis ball and copious amounts of fabric softener.

Apparently the modern way is to wash in Coca Cola!  Not the diet stuff though

The only thing you can really do is wash it several times before using - gets the shrinkage problem out of the way too.
