Fun with Fabric / Re: Fabric for M7714 Dress
« on: August 08, 2019, 11:40:34 AM »
Personally I'm a big fan of contrast and colour or print clashing but I like one colour also.  Certain garments can carry off a contrast better than others. Do whatever you want with it, wear it with pride and sod what anybody thinks  :P

In the wardrobe / Re: Trapeze dress
« on: August 08, 2019, 11:36:57 AM »
I've done a similar thing myself with a simple round necked top pattern; my version included placing the front and back pattern pieces on the fabric fold, pinning at the neckline and pulling away from the fold until I had it where I wanted it. Does that make sense?

Of course this makes it bigger everywhere, ok for me, but if you don't want to increase the chest/bust area then a slashing exercise would be better  ;)

Your Favourite Suppliers / Buttons
« on: August 07, 2019, 16:50:16 PM »
Bought some buttons on fleabay from Mrs Arthur's Button Shop. Looked at the website direct and they're really cheap and very colourful. Only thing I will say is that they're very lightweight so might not appeal to everybody.

If the waist is tight with the dart I wouldn't put the darts in. That's just me. I'm sure someone with knowledge will come along  :)

They look lovely, what a great idea. I agree painting the doors cream will improve them looks-wise, it would freshen them up and look more modern if that's what you're after

Oooo very naughty. If you can't face tackling them via email with photos for a refund, then I hope you can make use of it somehow.  Not a solution but if you dye it a darker colour it might cover the felt tip writing...?
