Fun with Fabric / Re: Cover beach umbrella
« on: May 31, 2019, 11:09:58 AM »
I made a motorbike cover from fleece fabric a few years ago. It had shaped sections to fit on the bike snugly like a blanket  :loveit:  It was a t**t to put together actually but looks veh veh professional, and for about thirty quid a fraction of the price  :)

the things we do for love, eh?

In the wardrobe / Re: How do you decide what to make next?
« on: May 31, 2019, 11:01:45 AM »
I look through my patterns and pick out a few, then I make a list of what I fancy making. If nothing grabs me straight away I then consider if any birthday's are coming up and have a thunk what to make for those.

I haven't been feeling a garment vibe for quite a while now; mainly as I have more clothes than I can wear and a couple of the last few projects haven't worked out so has put me off   ><

Come August I start prepping for Christmas gifts. Apart from that I spend time browsing fabric sites and dreaming, tidying my sewing room and awaiting inspiration  :loveit:

Sewing Spaces and Furniture / Re: Sewing chair
« on: May 26, 2019, 08:18:35 AM »
I had an inkling that an office chair would be a good solution. I like the one that Fran uses, based on it being without wheels, it looks a neat size too.

Thanks everybody  :loveit:

OH is feeling flush - and generous  :o - on the back of his redundancy payout and has offered to treat me to a li'l something for my sewing sanctuary. Having had a good ol think I've decided I could do with a decent chair, at the mo I'm sitting on a wooden dining chair with no cushioning, it's a devil on the buttocks after a long shift.

So, of course, I need guidance.....What do you use?
