Lovely @Sandra . Looks proper purply to me.

Thank you.  :)
It looks more of a bluey purple in this picture and it's a brighter and more purply purple in real life.  0_0

Managed to cut out last night and I've made one for now.

Isn't it annoying how some colours just WON'T photograph accurately?
It's nothing like these bluey shades. It's much nicer colours and properly purple.

OMG! Next year!?
Not even close to being withdrawn.
I wondered why I hadn't seen anything anywhere about them being taken out of circulation.

funny enough  I found an old £20 note among some other money in a drawer - you don't seem to need any cash any more but wanted some for a gift  - checked on the internet- yes still legal tender - I would have kicked off in the post office - cannot see how they could refuse

I thought it was me.
I've no idea when the notes are going to be withdrawn and assumed he knew what he was talking about. Felt a bit foolish when he said he wouldn't take them.

Quite nice out. A bit cloudy, a bit sunny and fairly warm.  :)

I haven't had much work to do today and it's done.

I've arranged collection of stuff for charity which might be collected Monday or Tuesday. I'm waiting for them to get back to me.

Daughter let slip this morning that her Dad's taking her out tomorrow to view a couple of flats. She was told not to tell me...I've no idea why. He seems to forget sometimes that I'm her mother, and out of the two of us, I've been the No.1 parent to her. She talks to me and tells me stuff.

I've been to the post office to send a package and to pay my council tax bill for this month but my council tax payment was declined because I was going to use a couple of the old style £20 notes.  >< 'We don't accept those any more'.
I had no idea of the cut off date for using them but I've just checked and it's not until the 30th of this month.

Looks pleasant out with a blue sky and no breeze. Washing machine's on but I don't have much to wash today.

I didn't see Mum yesterday. Brother obviously couldn't get a visit booked otherwise he'd have come and collected me.

Dry Cleaner didn't leave me much yesterday but he called again later in the morning to ask if it was okay to leave an URGENT! alteration with me.'s a suit to alter which needs to be collected next Tuesday, so not too urgent, but it was nice of him to ask anyway to make sure.
I'll be able to start that today as I don't have much else to do at the mo.

It's a bit cloudy this morning but we don't have any rain forecast and should see a little bit of sunshine.

Only have two pairs of trousers to taper from the menswear shop, and another pair to shorten. Dry Cleaner due this morning.

I don't know if I'll be visiting Mum this afternoon. Brother was going to try to get a visit today and he'll pick me up if he's over here.

Clear blue sky this morning and it feels like autumn out there with a slight chill in the air. Looks nice though.  :)

I have an urgent wedding job to do today. It's a waistcoat which needs about an inch and half putting in each side seam to get it larger. I'm hoping I'll find some good colour match lining in my bit box. They're flying on Wednesday and I said I'd probably get it done today.
Other than that job I've just been given a few pairs of jeans to patch the crutch  :x area  :\ Ugh! Loathsome job.

I've made a bit of progress on tidying stuff  although you wouldn't know it if you saw how much clutter and mess there is.  :S

It was raining first thing but it brightened up and was lovely for a couple of hours or so.
It's cloudy again now.

My niece has collected me this morning and we've been to see Mum in her new place. Dad was already in the car.  :)
First impressions are good. She seemed happy. There was an especially kindly and helpful carer who said hello to us all. It's a big place. Very spacious, which might prevent Mum from feeling so cooped up and trapped.
We were able to sit in her room and admire the view which isn't pretty, but there's a lot going on with the main road outside.
Our time was up and a carer came to send us on our way. Mum and Dad walked slowly down the corridor in front of us and they had their arms around each other...niece and me looked at each other, a bit like this... :'(

Not sure what to do this afternoon. I suppose the obvious thing is Sorting Stuff.  :S

@William  Mine are more like 15 years old and have barely seen the light of day, hence the reason they might look brand new.

Sheilago clearly knows what she's doing  0_0 as her quilt is still in good, probably frequently-washed condition, and is holding together perfectly well after 31 years.  :)

Mine would be perfectly okay on a regular wash in the washing machine and dried on the line.

:grouphug: I love you lot on here. Thank you.

Daughter's gone out and won't be back until Monday.
She was quite blunt with me yesterday after a conversation she had with her dad but she's apologised to me today and I explained why I won't just sign my name on something I haven't read properly. She looked a bit upset about it all.

Her dad has also phoned me this morning. He was apologetic about how pushed I'm feeling and understands. He's being pestered by someone else to get me to sign this document. It's about how we're going to put the house on the market. It's NOT a sale.

I won't be homeless. Please don't think I'm destitute. This sale needs to go ahead.
I need this line drawing under my failed marriage. The house is the final tie between us (excluding the kids, of course, but they're big now).

I've loved living here. It's a happy home/house. I put down deep roots so this is quite a wrench for me to let go.
This is only the 2nd address I've lived at.  0_0

All will be well and I can start on the next adventure.  :)

@BrendaP  I'm not going to bother with the CAB. The last time I sought help from them they were desperately short of advisers and there was nobody available to help.

I know I need to see a solicitor more than someone from Citizens Advice. I've been making a list of all the questions I need to ask.

I'm still not too worried. Wish I'd got more time to sort all my stuff before putting the house on the market.

Daughter's going to be coming downstairs shortly so I'll have to go.  :ninja:

Looks lovely out.  :)

Slept badly.  :\ Shouty neighbours with friends leaving at 4 o'clock this morning. Put my bedside lamp on and read for about an hour or so.

Ex is pushing for me to sign something regarding the sale of the house without me having the time to read it properly. Daughter phoned him yesterday evening and I could hear her say, 'I'll tell her!', in a slightly stroppy voice.
Then she confronted me, and told me to sign it or Dad says he'll do this, that or the other, and I won't like it. Don't worry!...nothing violent or unpleasant to me. He's a bully and likes to teach people 'a lesson'.

I've read it this morning in the peace and quiet and I think I understand what I'll be signing. Not signed yet though.  :P

Have a bit of work from the menswear shop so I'll be getting on with that today.

Doesn't look bad out. It's fairly bright with a light breeze. Slept a bit better last night too.  :)

Dry Cleaner's just been mid typing. Empty handed today.

I have two pairs of trousers to shorten and a jacket to shorten the sleeves...all black, so I'll make sure the bobbin's full and get on with those today.

Son drove us to visit Dad yesterday to keep him in the picture on all the stuff going on here. He seemed older yesterday, and worried! but we tried to be positive and reassuring so he wouldn't worry any further. He'll visit me today.

I think I'll be seeing Mum in her new place on Sunday. Niece phoned yesterday and said she'll pick me and Dad up.  :)
