I love watching Lauren Mourmino (sp) on Youtube, she does make some of her own patterns, but her tutorials are literally step by step, so make a lot of sense for visual learners.

I agree @Puzzler although a lot of them are made with quilting type cotton and I wonder how hard wearing that would be.  After all the effort and time some of them take I’d want them to last!   
But it’s difficult to get nice patterns in stronger fabric.
