Thanks, @Ros (you, enabler, you). It’s still on and I have bought it. I won’t use it for the double-faced fabric as the Kwik Sew jacket pattern is more suited to it but will keep my eye out for something else.

It’s a bit Alexis Carrington, isn’t it? It does call for shoulder pads, so yes, it would need alteration in that area. I am wondering about using an armhole and sleeve from another pattern. Would that be possible? I won’t do shoulder pads.

Went off to my local fabric shop yesterday to look for some stretch woven for my trouser in a darker colour as the pieces I have are all light. It was closed until further notice.  :( I had toiled the waistband of the trousers and have decided to cut a full toile in that size. Perhaps I should toile the jacket first since I have the fabric for that.

Today I was charity shopping hopping for books and found one selling old uncut patterns for £.99 each. I bought this one as I love that sort of neckline. Might suit being a third item but not sure if I will get that far. https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/730146158343990248/

Lucky you to have art house films on offer. I have the Borrow Box app too but I don’t understand why I have to wait to borrow a virtual book. Some have waiting lists over 6 months long. Perhaps I am just a Luddite. I am happy with the mags though. They have Cooks Illustrated and Quilting Arts.  :thumb:

I have requested books in the past from my local library but I am not that desperate for anything at the moment.

I downloaded it and apart from some magazines, I couldn’t see anything else I would want to virtually borrow. It was all weird stuff. Is that due to my library?

@Renegade Sewist, I take your point. I will make a toile first and assess from there.

@toileandtrouble, how you are on the mend and manage to shake off the fatigue. It does take a while.

Well, struck out on the fabric front with one exception but found some patterns I want to use. I really liked the look of the longer cardigan but not paying that price for only half the pattern as I have no interest in the other cardigan. https://www.mariadenmark.com/shop/sl14-coatigan-cardigan/. However when searching through patterns in my stash, I came across one that is similar. I think I will change the shape of the front hem to lose those pointy bits. I had got it with a view to using some double faced ponte I bought ages ago from the Textile Centre. The pattern directions call for leaving the outside edges raw. There is no way this stuff will suit hemming as it’s very thick. I was thinking of some sort of binding as I don’t like the unfinished look of raw edges. The seams will be thick too so will have to ponder those.

Woops. Posted too soon.

I also found an old Sandra Betzina pattern for trousers that I have always wanted to try. https://sewing.patternreview.com/patterns/17627. I normally choose the size according to my hip measurement and increase at the waist but for this contoured waistband, I will do the opposite, if that makes sense. Has anyone been following the Top Down Centre Out method of pants fitting? I am not sure this pattern is a good candidate to try that out given the princess seams back and front, but will give it a go on a more basic pants pattern.

For the third piece, if I get that far, I have the Itch to Stitch Bonn shirt toiled. It just needs a couple of minor adjustments (after making a whole load of major ones, of course).

I was planning to sort through my patterns today and pair them up to stash fabric so if my mojo holds out, I may be in one this one.

I was looking at The Sewdirect site for any patterns I might like to get during their half price sale. I came up with a grand total of one. I will give it a miss though.

I would flat line a dress like that.

I hope someone here snaps this up. I absolutely adore my Featherweight.

Do you use an invisible zip? I was watching a YouTube video last night and the vlogger mentioned she didn’t use them in trousers as they weren’t strong enough. I personally prefer a side zip but my waist isn’t that much smaller than my hips so a fairly straight run.

Really nice. It makes buying these patterns so worthwhile when you get this much mileage out of them.

I recognised that I had a similar pattern, the Victoria Blazer from By Hand. I have the paper copy. Not sure of they offer a PDF version.

Several favourable reviews here: https://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/reviewgallery.pl

Sorry, this isn’t the link to the correct page but if you type Fulton in the pattern number field and click on the search button it should bring you to the correct page.

Love the looks of some of their fabrics. Thanks for the tip off.
