Could I have the Fay skirt and the Daisy tunic if they are still available, please. Please DM me the combined postage and details for payment.

Fun with Fabric / Re: Sue Barker’s jacket fabric

While you’re waiting for her to reappear, have a look at the Linton Tweeds website and see if you spot anything similar.

If you are not too bothered about maintain integrity the original condition of the machine, the motor  and foot pedal could be replaced which would also solve the problem of any dodgy internal wiring. I don’t know if the light can be rewired, but they are not that bright and do get rather hot.

Sewing Machines / Re: difference in bernina 1000-1008

There’s a chart available here which has basic information about the different models.

Full details of the 1008 are available on the Bernina website.

Thanks for the feedback, @Tamnymore - Bob Green serviced an old Pfaff of mine many years ago, but I'd lost his details. According to Google, he is now based at the Sewing Shop in Bromborough, Wirral.

@Lizzy777 I see from your profile that you are in Cheshire. Depending on whereabouts in Cheshire, Bambers in Eccles might be an option for servicing. I had a vintage Bernina repaired and serviced by them recently and am very pleased with it. I know they service and repair featherweights as I asked if they could look at a 222k I have. They won't commit to a price without checking over the machine but will phone you with the costs once they know what will be involved and what parts (if any) are needed. There is no cost for looking at the machine and giving a quote, but you will have to leave it with them and collect it later whatever you decided to do.

Alternatively, Jaycotts in Chester offer servicing (but I've not used them) and I remember seeing a sewing machine shop in Macclesfield (Phil Morton sewing), but I think this might be more in @Tamnymore 's neck of the woods so she might have more information on this shop.

Edited - here are links for the shops mentioned:

Just be aware that the colour coding of the wiring probably won’t be the modern blue (neutral) and brown (live), but old black (neutral) and red (live).

That’s good news - a three pin plug is easy enough to replace.

Is it just the plug that goes into the wall socket that has been chopped off, or is it the plug that goes unto the machine?

Sorry for the misinformation @Acorn and @bessc  - I knew the cafe was restricted somehow but the exact details eluded me.

Great alternative use of the pin icon, seeing as we are lacking weather icons, @bessc .

If you want to increase your post count, perhaps you could start a hello thread in the "hi, I'm new" board and post daily (or hourly ) weather reports or just say hello to some of the other newbies - I'm sure you could reach 25 posts quite quickly.

Usually weather/daily activity posts appear in The Cafe, but that is only accessible to subscribers.

I have fabric and I have an idea, the only thing I don't have is plenty of time to sew. There may or maynot be a "darkside-ish" entry from me.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve had a rummage in my stash and found a couple of other options that might work so I will see how they look once the quilting is finished.

Right, the second quilt top that meets the TSP colour requirements is ready for quilting, but I’ve a dilemma when it comes to the binding. Do I go with the one that looks better but is the “wrong” colour or do I go with the one that is within the “rules”?

Welcome to TSP. As @Acorn says, there are ways to share pictures without being a subscriber, but I think you need to have posted 25 times before you can include a link in your posts (admins - please correct this if it is wrong).
