Hi
I am looking for some help.
I usually sew garments. I am planning to make some cases for scissors as I have 3 good pairs that i keep on plastic cases that were supplied by Ernest Wright when I bought my scissors / had scissors refurbished & sharpened.
I have found 2 patterns for the style I like https://www.thesewingdirectory.co.uk/padded-scissor-case-project/ and http://sotakhandmade.blogspot.com/2015/09/scissors-cozy-tutorial.html
I have fabric but am looking for advice for the padding. One pattern calls for "Soft & Stable" which I'm struggling to find & the other refers to "Use your preferred method to baste both exterior panels to batting" but I havent used batting, I'm not sure what it is & I don't have a preferred method - is it just tacking?
Can anyone help me with this? Is this what I need? https://www.sewessential.co.uk/vlieseline-cotton-mix-batting-80-20-light-and-soft-blend-244cm-wide
Or please advise me of a suitable product?
I'd love to make these scissor cases - Ive been thinking about doing it for ages.
Thanks

@Happymrsg Batting is what you call wadding. Knowing that, have you sewn with wadding?

Wadding /batting https://www.doughtysonline.co.uk/?target=search&mode=search&substring=Wadding&including=all
The one you listed is also fine. Just gives your project a bit of bounce. It’s what is used in a quilt sandwich.

They look good and the different colour zip for quick identification is a very good idea! :)
